Menstrual cycle after surgery

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on 8-20-1014. I have lost about 66 pounds. I thought that, losing what I have, my cycle would become regular. I've never had a cycle on my own. So I don't know if this would make a difference. But I am still not having a period on my own. I've had a couple of instances where I spotted but no flow. I HATE going to the doctor so I've waited to see if my body would eventually correct itself. But no such luck. So I have put on my big girl panties and started going to a gyno. He has put me on metformin and in a month I will go back and we will talk about him putting me on clomid. I REALLY want to be a mother. I was just wondering if anyone else was in my situation where they are still not getting a cycle after losing weight.

I am seven months out and not having regular periods at all. In fact, its been three months since my last one with zero chance of pregnancy. Before the surgery, I always had regular periods. I can't have another child due to a heart condition, so the absence of a period is not terribly problematic.

My doctor mentioned that the absence of a monthly period over a long length of time could lead to cancer? I'm still studying up on that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
