What should I take with me to the hospital?

Recommended Posts

I didn't read all posts so I'm not sure if it's been said, but aside from all the usuals, I recommend ear buds and your music. I was supposed to have a private room but ended up with a shared room and the music and earbuds were the ONLY way I got any sleep with the other person in the room. Even if you have a private room it will block out the hospital sounds.

I used a small travel pillow to brace my stomach with. It's helped with the pain of walking and for any bumps or jolts traveling. Also, biotene was a life savior, but I see that you already use that.

Lots of luck to you

@@glitter eyes I appreciate the advice. I have a small pillow. I'll take it along if I can squeeze it in my carry on.

I just had surgery Wednesday. Here's some essentials I took...

Chap stick

Pillow

Ear buds

Shoes that u can just slip on. Bending over to put on shoes is usually a no go

Lotion-my skin stayed very dry

shaker cup- all of my meals came with Protein powder and Water but no way to actually mix it together

Good luck!

I packed a little bag which my parents brought later. I packed my phone, IPad, toiletries (each room had a bathroom with shower), underwear and slip on tennis shoes. I had lap band removal, gastric sleeve and hernia repair. I was at the hospital 2 1/2 days and I was out of it much of the time. The hospital gave us a little bag with Chapstick and mouthwash which I did use. I never did watch TV, read or go online...mostly slept . I did put on the underwear and did use the slip on shoes to walk around to prevent clots and help with gas.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
