Fear of STRETCHING Sleeve!

Recommended Posts

my doctor explained to me that in the first six months there is still swelling and things are not back to normal, which is why your stomach can seem to stretch after the "honeymoon" period. the doctor told me they leave the least stretchy part of the stomach.

I have no doubt that xray of stomach after surgery and after a year show a difference, but I do not think it is anything that someone has done "wrong" but rather a normal part of the process.

I am pretty sure that weight gain would be due to eating around the sleeve, or drinking calories.

How can u get the revise surgery

The first step would be to talk to your surgeon and see if a revision is necessary. Then, if you are going through insurance, I am sure they will require a whole new approval process for the revision.

I was sleeved on January 5th and this is my biggest fear! I constantly have this in the back of my mind even though my nut says I am doing a great job. I know your sleeve does stretch after the swelling goes down but by how much though?. I see my doctor on April 1st and I feel so bad I have a ton of questions for ask him!!

I kept relying more on shakes b/c I was scared of stretching my sleeve--and it was just easier---my dr told me to eat real food---your stomach can shrink down and cause issues if you don't. I stalled b/c I wasn't eating enough real food.

Try the cottage cheese test if your worried you stretched it'll tell you how much you can hold. Then their the pouch reset. ( Google that shite)

Just because your 6 month, one year out ++ your pouch can an will still work and aid weight loss. just go Back to the basics.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
