What you fail to realize is I'd given it up for 6 months prior, struggling with the acid and the doubts and the boardwalk and the social situations. Now I'm on Prilosec and the problem has resolved itself. If your quick judgement is correct then a year from now you can say I told you so if I fail. I doubt you will.

Based just on where you are at in relation to your surgery date, I would stay away from those foods. At this point, its not even about the calories, but your digestive system just can't handle them yet. As you get farther out, its ok to have have a bite of something that you want, but keep it in line with your calories for the whole day. Remember, you got overweight by eating unhealthy foods. Avoid them now while you are adjusting to your new lifestyle. Your friend is probably just trying to help, but I can see how it came across wrong. I have a friend who was sleeved a few years ago, and she is always there to remind me how to be better. Hopefully, your friend is just trying to be supportive. Try not to give into the cravings though. Remember what your goal is and ask yourself if the food you are craving will help you reach that goal.

lol, yeah because everyone knows the best way to treat stomach acid is with hot fudge and french fries instead of calling your doctor.

You are only fooling yourself.

@@purrfctangel ... glad you found the acid reducer helpful.

Don't worry about the stall ... just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing. If the scales are making you nuts, put the scales away for a while.

BTW, sounds like your "mentor" is on BP and stalking you. LOL!

I'm about 2 weeks out and I understand the temptations. What I do is drink more Water, grab a Protein Shake or do some more walking and that seems to help. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have thoughts of cheating but I remember that's what got me here and the point of surgery was to help me correct that. Please stick to your diet, if not for your health, but from a healing stand point. I guarantee you couldn't explain this to your surgeon without getting the same reaction as your bff, probably worse.

Stalking is a criminal activity and not at all funny. I'd like to know why you found it appropriate to say this.

Website user disagrees with other website user is not even in the same universe of conduct as stalking.

If i could delete this topic i would. JCG go harass someone else. You're just bullying now. Ive never eaten hot fudge in my life.

You do experiment and learn. Right now I'm in Vegas on full comps and making good choices. Not even craving alcohol. Will spoil myself with spa treatments instead!

Wow that got way too serious too fast..

Craving's suck and I know all about them, I'm not going to lie I ate a french fry or two at 2 weeks out *Gasp!* and then realized what I did wrong and what I could do differently next time those cravings came up. As long as you realize your mistakes and move on then you'll be successful. Don't worry about what the Negative Nelly's have to say, Do you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
