Hello All,

I am super excited and nervous at the same time.. I was just approved for revision surgery for March 31.. I just wanted to know what are so of the recommended essentials to pack for my 2 night stay other than the obvious.. Thank you in advance!!

I took a estention cord for all my electronics, Chapstick, plug in air freshener (because I like the smell of home) music on my iPad, Heating pad...those are the only "odd" things I can think of right now.

I was a minimalist. I took cords and chargers for my iPhone /iPad, spare underwear in a larger size for comfort, deodorant and my toothbrush. My hospital was really good about providing everything I needed. A nurse brought me vaseline for my lips. I didn't have an issue wearing 2 gowns for modesty.

Bring your own pillow. You'll want it there for sleep, plus you'll want it on the ride home from the hospital to put in front of the seat belt.

I brought a night gown to wear. Its challenging to wear your own stuff because of everything you are hooked up to. Between the iv and heart monitor you have tubes and cords coming out of everywhere. What I brought was a tube top dress. That way my arms were out and the cords/tubes could go where they needed too.

Thanks everyone!

I am packing tonight and washing everything. My day is Wednesday and I want to make sure I have everything I need and want.

I brought a robe, Chapstick, iPhone charger, change of underwear, deodorant, and toothbrush/toothpaste... only used my robe, iPhone charger and Chapstick. I felt too crummy to try and make myself presentable. :)

I have surgery Weds too.

I have Gas x strips. I was told with all the air they pump in you will need it.

Among with everything else people said.

I had my surgery last Thursday and I was completely over packed. But it made me feel better to know that I had everything, even if I didn't use it.

The only things I used were my own pillow, my stuffed animal (helped when I needed to cough), and my Burt's bees lip balm. The hospital provided all kinds of toiletries (which I was mostly too drugged up to care about). The only thing I could have possibly needed was a longer charger cord for my phone--but I ended up having an outlet right by my head which was perfect.

I brought Chapstick because some Drs don't allow you to drink anything for "x" hours (for me it was only 6 hrs- sounds like some people have to wait until the next morning) and your mouth gets really dry. The Chapstick helped my lips from getting dry and cracked.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
