Well I started my journey last year in July with an informational seminar, I took about a month to do some soul searching to decide if WLS was for me. I had my first appointments at the end of August. I completed all my pre-op NUT appointments February 9th. There has been a little stall with the paperwork and insurance, I normally don't go to the hospital that will be performing the surgery, so they had to request my medical records from my main Doctor (you would think they could of done that in the previous six months! But whatever!!) paperwork was finally submitted to insurance, and on March 13th my insurance told me I was approved over the phone. I'm just now waiting for the doctor to receive the paper approval so I can schedule surgery!! I'm getting very impatient, just wanting to get this started!!!

I decided on the roux en y procedure. I know everyone is not the same, but are their any average numbers of pounds lost in first three months???

Well here's hoping to getting my date soon!!!!!

Your weight loss will be according to your body. There is no "average", it's all individual and can't be compared to anyone else. That being said, my all time high was 224, surgical weight was 217 and during the first 3 months I dropped around 45 lbs. I'm only 5'1" so my starting weight doesn't sound high, I what is considered a "light weight". I hope you get your date soon. Once you get that the time will fly.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
