Congratulations everyone!!!

Message me if you would love to join a small support group :) We have one already on a liquid diet and some starting very soon!!!

We are going to keep it small so it feels more close knit and get the full benefit of support and encouragement!!

My surgery date is April 20th God willing and I go for pre op testing April 16th and start my liquid Diet April 10th.

I kind of feel like it isn't real. I have been thinking about getting the sleeve for about a year, I went in December for my consult and finished everything March 18th.

I'm scheduled for April 6. I'm on day 6 of my pre-op diet, and I haven't cheated at all. I am feeling really tired and achy though. I'm allowed 3 - 4 Protein Shakes a day, non-starchy veggies, broth or low fat cream Soups, and 4 oz of lean chicken or fish once each week. I can also have low fat plain yogurt, sf popsicles, sf Jello. I mix Protein Powder with plain Greek yogurt instead of doing a shake for dinner, and it is really satisfying.

Hello everyone,

I'm having the sleeve gastrectomy April 6th. I voluntarily started the "light" Optifast liquid diet a couple of weeks ago. while I was not perfect on the diet I did lose 8 lbs. I do hope that will make a difference in decreasing my liver size. I was supposed to start the "full" optifast program last week and admit it's been rocky. It's quite easy to rationalize cheating "oh I will substitute this for that". But now it's down to the wire and I must be very serious.. 2 weeks to go..I WILL behave myself and fully commit to the program from here on in. I've had some roadblocks .. My hemoglobin was low.. only 8.6. I am Iron deficient so I began taking supplements as advised by my Hematogist. My hgb is now up to 9.6.. I'll be tested again Tuesday to see if it increased further. The other thing was I was found to have sleep apnea.. and I panicked since I was told by pulmonologist office staff I could not have my surgery if a CPAP machine was not in place before my surgery date..2 weeks to get approved by insurance company AND get the machine set up? ha! My

took pity on me I suppose and cleared me anyway (said my sleep apnea wasn't bad). In any case besides my anemia all is set. I'd love to join an April support group so that we could help each other get through all stages of the sugery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
