Anyone March 24th? Dr. Nick Nicholson doing my surgery.

Recommended Posts

I accidentially typed the wrong date of March 25th on my prior post. Note to self: look at what you typed before you submit post.

Anyway, I live in Plano Texas and Dr. Nick Nicholson is doing my sleeve/hernia surgery on Tuesday the 24th of March.

The process has gone quickly..my first appointment was only about a month ago. I am nervous and excited at the same time.

Congratulations!! It's right around the corner for you!

I am contacting Nic clinic tmrw. I'll be traveling from Richmond VA area. After almost a year of waiting & jumping hoops, appealing, appealing again, I was looking into Tijuana, but the husband is not comfortable with me traveling to MX alone. I've shown him hundreds of posts from all the happy & healthy MX patients but he's not sold.

Anyhoo....I'll be self-pay & I'm seriously considering the Nicholson clinic. Can't find anything but great things about him!

Good luck & keep us posted!

@@peteyrulz fortunately I live about 6 miles from Dr. Nicholson's office. Good luck tomorrow when you call the office. Dr. Nicholson is a very nice man and is the best at what he does. I have never heard a negative word about him or his office staff. My experience has been great so far.

I will look forward to hearing how it goes! Best of luck to you!

Reading thesd forums is helping me ease my nervousness..i know that all cases are different as well as all healing times are as well...my biggest fear right now is the tubing they put in to help breathe..im wondering how painful is it as well as the removal of it?

We will be under anesthesia for both intubation and removal. I don't know if this will help but I just watched my grandfather get intubated when his heart stopped in his hotel room. It's actually not as big as you think..... It only looked like the width of a highlighter. They have to put the scope down as well so it can't be that big.

I'm not a doctor but I'm 99% sure they give you general anesthesia before they put tube in. They take it out before you wake up.

Any pros to add anything? it's been awhile since I've had this done.

Well thats comforting to know!! Have you had any complications from your surgery? I fear excess skin and flab...i guess maybe working out will help with that...i only took a week off so hopefully thats enough time, i heal quickly

. I work in OR and they definitely put you to sleep before intubation and extubate you before you wake up!! All the bad stuff you sleep through and it only feels like you've been asleep for a few minutes...thank goodness...even if it's hours. Good luck to you all????

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
