Very new to the pre-op group

Hello,

My Name is Frances, i'm not sure if this is the place to do this but just a little about myself. I am 37 I am very happily married to a wonderful man and i have 2 children. I have been thinking about surgery for the last year, and when i told my primary doctor i was ready he was so happy. I am more then ready for this and even more so now that i haqve gone to the informational meeting last night. I have an appointment with the nutritionist next monday and the doctor the day after. My insurance covers just about 100%, i will have to pay for the hospital stay so i am hoping it is not more then 1 night. At this point i am not really scared about the surgery, i am more scared/nervous about the after. More spacificaly the drinking Water part, all i drink is water but i tend to get busy and forget to drink. Until my body says hello i'm thursty, needless to say that for the last month (since i decided i was doing this) i have been trying really hard to make sure i am drinking the correct amount of water. On another note is there an ap for this site or even a Facebook page that i can get on my phone, so that i can have the support at any time day or night?

I tend to go on and on so if i do at time i am sorry about that. Thank you in advance for all of the beging help and support, i have been told many great things about this group.

Water can be challenging at first but it gets better with time. Good luck on your up coming surgery and welcome!

Yes, there is an app (I use BariatricPal on my iPhone). It is addictive.

I am pre-op and have successfully weaned myself off of caffeine and drink mostly Water. I have a 24 oz water bottle and I fill it up at least 3 times a day. You could try setting a timer on your phone to remind you to drink. I know it will be much harder post-surgery to get in Water but I am building the habit and do feel much better when I get in all my water.

Welcome aboard and best of luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
