How many people kept Weight Loss Surgery a secret ?

Recommended Posts

Preach it!!!!

This is why I've told no one except my mom who is having it done the same day!!! She also told no one! I'm happy this way. I don't want to hear everyone's negativity!

I had my surgery two weeks ago. I told 4 people. My mom stepfather who took me to hospital and picked me up my only sibling (my brother) and my best friend. Told no one at church or work. My job just think I took a two week vacation. I go back to work tomorrow and I feel good. Btw I'm down 19 pounds

I've told folks. I haven't broadcast it to the masses but I am telling the people closest to me, which includes coworkers. I chose to tell people because I feel strongly that I'm making the right choice for me. I welcome people's questions because I'd rather tell them what they want to know instead of having them wonder or worry.

People don't have to agree with my decision, although every person I have told has been very supportive. VSG is what I am choosing for me. I'm not attempting to convert folks.

Tonight I spoke with someone who said it seemed very scary to her but that it sounded like I've done my research on the procedure and am involved in ways to gain support. Many of my friends and family have said they are worried because it's surgery, but that they support my informed choice.

This post was well put! I have only

told my husband, daughter, mom, sister. I intend to tell no one else. It has no relevance on their life. My husband's family is always up in our business and have an opinion on everything. There is no way in hell I need to deal with their opinions or judgement. This is a hard road, I don't care what anyone says! It requires mental strength, courage and will power. I feel very proud for making a step towards change. Sad that I can't share it with everyone, but the surgery was only a small part....I get credit for the hard work that follows. The journey to fitness and greater health is still the same as anyone else with the same goals.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
