This may sound silly...

Its not a silly question if you have never had a surgery! The answer is yes. You will be asked to remove all of your clothing and they will provide you with a gown and non slip socks. Good luck on you Surgery!

It really depends who your Doctor is. I was on my monthly cycle and did not have to remove my undies. I also did not have drains, or a catheter and I hear many do. I guess it just depends...

They gave me some paper underwear to put on along with my gown and booties, but they were too small so I went commando.

Pretty sure those paper underwear wouldn't fit anyone with a BMI over 30! After trying them on and sending my sister into hysterical laughing I went commando, too.

I know right? I was like "they do realize why I'm here, don't they?"

I was required to go command and had both a drain and a catheter put in place while I was in dreamland. I was not pleased with the catheter.

Commando here also. I wore a gown and slipper socks into the OR. I woke up with both a catheter and a drain. I remained in just my gown and socks until I was being discharged. I did not want to have to fight underwear on top of dealing with the drain, keeping the IV out of the way, and lifting the gown and all of its strings trying to go to the restroom. I am not usually very patient the first few days after being sedated, so commando was the best option for me.

They gave me paper undies that were more like shorts. They went to my knees and I had to hold onto them when I up or they fell off. Switched into my yoga pants right after surgery. Much easier to walk the halls in.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
