not getting that Full feeling

Recommended Posts

Im two weeks and two day post op and just started soft foods yesterday. Today I'm having an egg white omelette with a little bit of reduced fat cheese and I'm almost done and still no full feeling. I'm convinced the surgery wasn't done. LOL!!! How am I supposed to know when I'm full when I don't feel it?

Your stomach may not be sending you proper signals because your nerves are still healing. Be sure to stick with the amount your program allows you to eat, no more, whether or not you feel restriction or "full."

Exactly what @@Bufflehead said. Don't rely on feeling "full" yet. Only eat what you were told you can eat. You'll actually learn what your new "full" feeling feels like doing this. And make sure your eating as slow as time cause if you're not, it'll catch up and you'll regret it. Good Luck!

It really takes 6-8 weeks, time for nerves to heal, be on full solids etc before you begin to feel restriction. Well, that was my story anyway!

Eat by the clock and measuring spoon in the meantime!

Thanks for the tips. My doc said measure 4 oz for food ,does that seem like a lot? and to take about 1/2 hr to eat. I see ppl on here saying only 2 oz at first.

Every doc is different. You'll have a hard time finding anyone that is on the same program as you. Best thing is to follow you doc's orders. We'll offer what support we can along the way but nothing competes with your doctor's plan for you or what you feel about your body.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
