Good evening fellow travelers. Since I haven't seen a group posting for February/March 2015 I thought I'd start one. I am interested in who you chose and where you're having your surgery. I have not set a date yet, but I will be talking with Katy Floyd (from A Lighter Me) on Monday to discuss setting a date and answering some of my questions. I am 49 years old (going to be a healthier 50's and beyond) man. I am a nurse,working in an ICU, and have been working nights for the majority of the past 27 years. I have decided on Dr Elias Ortiz, with A Lighter Me, in Tijuana, Mexico. I hope to share more of my story in the future.

So excited! Nervous too! We are packing. Our flight leaves at 7am in the morning. Going to miss the other kids so much but cant wait to see my oldest start this journey to the life she has always wanted. See you all there! Mexico tomorrow!

Hi Everybody!!!!!! Well my day has finally arrived. I arrived in Mexico last night and heading to the hospital this morning for my surgery. It's On now!!!!! I'm so excited. All is well here. I will send the play-by-play later on my whole experience. I'm in God's hands as always!

Well Im officially sleeved. About 15 hrs post op and just passed leak test. Hello Gatorade!

Good luck everyone! Hope ur doing well gundern2015! Flying east to west coast tomorrow for surgery in TJ with Dr Corvala at Angeles Hospital. Just got phone call to c if I would b Ok with having it done when I arrive, instead of Friday. I guess, the sooner the better! Wish me luck. Keep u posted.

Good luck...I am with Covala June 30. I learned today that he uses a 36 bougie sleeve size which is right in the middle of the range. I wish you no leaks. Freddie

I had mine the day I flew in, it was great. One less night to worry! Good luck tmrw!

Going to fly to San Diego tomorrow for my sleeve on Friday! So excited!

Well we are 14 hours post op. Leak test tomorrow. Lots of gas. Remember your gas medicine! Ouch. We have walked some and can only have ice chips. Looking forward to popsicles and gatorade after leak test. Tijuana is beautiful and the people are so nice. We hope to come back for a family vacation sometime. Yea! We are sleeved.

At the hotel now what a step up! No drain, no IV. Feeling ok! .
