Is there anyone else out there that doesn't want to tell the people that they work with about having WL surgery??? I work with a bunch of very caddy women who talk crap about each other than act like your best friend and I saw how they treated and bad mouthed another coworker about her having surgery and making comment like "she took the easy way out" etc. I don't want to tell anyone about it, but I know in time they will obviously wonder how I'm losing the weight. Any advise etc???

I didn't tell anyone at work. They don't need to know. You will have to diet before the surgery so I just continue that philosophy. I am eating smaller meals and mostly Protein and workout 6 days a week.

Good luck-

Easy. Don't tell. If they ask you how you're losing weight, tell them you are working with your doctor and suggest they work with theirs if they are interested in learning more.

If they continue to ask questions, tell them you're tired of talking about your weight but you'd be more than happy to talk about theirs.

Done.

I've chosen not to tell my coworkers, it's none of their business plain and simple. I've told my immediate family and that was it.

Agree. Don't share anything you don't want out there. There is no privacy if you share. I didn't share cancer and I didn't share WLS either.

Do not tell them. It's none of their business.

Just tell them you're eating small portions & working out a ton!

I'm not sharing either. My doctor is putting "hernia repair" on my paperwork since he's doing that at the same time. I hate that they force you to tell them what procedure it is if you're using the short term disability option. BLAH!

I'm not telling my co workers either, just my boss so I can get the time off work. I too am of the opinion that it's really none of their business. So what if your eating smaller portions? So what if your losing weight? Its your business and your business only.

This is most likely the best response you can use, you are be honest and upfront, you are working with a doctor, which is the complete truth, they don't have to know the details.

And if they continue to push offering to talk about their weight is a great diversion, it'll more than likely shut them up about the topic. I really don't understand why people feel that it is acceptable to ask and talk about your weight.

Love the new lips BTW LipstickLady.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
