What's with all the "diet" food?

Recommended Posts

At the okay from my NUT, I sometimes eat bad foods. Occasionally I take my 5 year old to McDonalds as an after school treat, and according to my NUT, feeling deprived is a quick way to falling off the bandwagon. So what do I do? I lifehack it.

I get the 4 piece chicken nugget kids meal. I get the apple slices as my first side, and tell them to give me a Cutie (a mandarin orange) instead of french fries. I get a light lemonade (just 5 calories and I swear it tastes the same is regular). I don't get any sauce for the nuggets, and I only eat two, even if I have room for all 4. Fortunately, I have a growing 5 year old boy, and he happily takes the extra nuggets off of my hands! I once had a Fresco menu taco at Taco Bell too!

That's right, I just admitted to eating junk food. I'm not ashamed. By limiting quantity, making healthy substitutions, and not eating junk food every day, I keep myself from feeling totally deprived, which makes it that much easier to stick with my healthy diet the other 98% of the time.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
