Just wanted opinions of how often is too much? For example, once a day? Once a week? I got a fill on Tuesday and have had a couple of episodes of sliming since so I think I need smaller bites for myself personally.

If you know it is your fault, it's no big deal because you can change how you eat! When I was newly banded and learning, I maybe had issues once every few days. But I always knew it was my own fault! Now I think I am being ridiculously careless if it happens once a month! I think the iast time was around two or more months ago.

Of course, if it is not due to careless eating, then the band is too tight!

I imagine everyone does it occasionally but if it is happening every day, there is a problem because it happens when food builds up above the band and into the base of the oesophagus and if it happens too often, over a long period of time it can cause oesophageal dilation or, even more serious oesophageal dysmotility (the oesophageal walls cease to make the movements necessary to push food along,

I agree. I had stuck and sliming episodes but it was always from eating too fast and not chewing to paste. Now it's rare but I am still at the same fill level. I really have to work on slow eating and chewing.

I am at 8 ccs in a 9 cc band and I haven't had any episodes of what you all are describing. Is this normal? I don't go back to doctors for 3 more weeks. Am I not tight enough yet?

Not at all. Sliming is not the norm! An occasional episode isn't a problem but not sliming doesn't mean you are not tight enough, well chewed food shouid pass through a correctiy adjusted band in about a minute. If it does this, you won't slime!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
