I got to go home yesterday! I'd been having terrible lingering gas pains and had been walking a lot, but it wasn't doing much.

I also had extreme nausea and couldn't keep anything down. I'm not even sure what I was vomiting up at this point.

But they let me go home and I had almost 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep and I feel a lot better this morning. I'm sipping slowly on a Protein Shake and looking forward to taking a shower in a little while.

I was able to take my regular meds this morning with a small amount of Water and they stayed down. Hoping that i'm on the other side of this now....

Hello March Sleevers!

I was just approved. My surgery date is March 25th. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I only have to do a 7 day pre-op diet. I thought it would be 2 weeks. Is this normal, or has anyone else had to do less than two weeks.

Also, I would love to hear from others having surgery on this day.

Take care,

Mo

I only have to do 5 days of pre-op full liquids and do the bowel prep the morning before. Still, I think I'm going to do 7 days of the full liquids....

Hi MoJo119

My date is also March 25th . I've actually started pre-op yesterday. But it's still a pretty normal diet unlimited fruits and veggies, Protein , low fat cheese, and 3-4 servings of starchy carbs. And of course at least 60oz of liquids ...

I'm in Florida where will u be having your sleeve ?

I am in Atlanta, Georgia. Piedmont Hospital. Why did you start your pre-op so early?

All he said was the cleaner I eat the easier it is for him to go in do the actual procedure , and he won't have too much to move around. My friend is doing her surgery on April 2 and they had her start prep also.

Oh and it's also a requirement to lose 10lbs before surgery. So I guess when we start so early we have a better chance of getting that 10lbs off

One day down and 13 more to go on my pre-op diet. I was so hungry yesterday, but today I am doing a lot better. I have my meeting with the surgeon today and we will see what he has to say.

Dear Mo,

I have heard different things like some people not having to do a pre-op diet at all and some people have to do it for 3-4 weeks before. My surgeon has everyone do the pre-op for 2 weeks regarless of how much they weigh or have to lose.

March 31st here! So excited and nervous at the same time. Very stressed out though! Been house hunting for a few weeks and feel like I am gaining weight when I'm supposed to be losing. Not eating more but not choosing wisely.

I have to get back into the swing of things! Having trouble staying focused.

Surgery went fine yesterday. Very sore today. I was private pay. But the surgeon said my band had indeed slipped....so shouldn't I be able to contact the insurance company and submit a claim?

Surgeon told me I had a lot of scar tissue. It took him 3 hrs! Said it should have taken 2 hrs max.

Sorry to hear about all that scar tissue. My surgeon mentioned that as a possibility for me. I've had the band since March 2011. Glad the surgery part is over for you. Now on to the healing phase.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
