I am a mother of 3~ 7 years, 4 years, 2 years. I am worried how I am going to take care of them post op. My mom and husband will be home the first week after surgery. I'm just worried bc my 2 younger ones are momma boys and are always on me and climbing in our bed at night. I had C sections with my last 2 and it was tuff recoveries but I had a lot of help then, sorry for going on and on this is just something that I'm having major anxiety over.

My kids are 7 and 3. I just told them that they had to be gentle. Once they weren't so yucky looking , I showed them my incisions and told them I have owies so they need to be careful with my tummy. My 3 yr old elbowed me a couple of times when playing, but otherwise it was fine. I moved a little slow, but otherwise I was okay caring for them after just a few days. I was really tired and needed naps though. Good luck!!

This is funny, because I made almost this exact same post a few days back. My kids are 7, 5, and 2, and my biggest anxiety about the surgery is how I'm going to do school drop-offs and whatnot when I can't lift my 2-year-old into his carseat for 6 weeks. My mom will be staying with me for the first week, and my husband will be home from work during that time, too. After that, I think I'm going to ask one of the other moms at my son's school if she could give my son rides for a week or two. If it's anything like my gallbladder removal surgery (also laparoscopic), I'm hoping I'll be mostly back in the groove after about 3 weeks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
