Reaching goal weight vs. skin removal

Recommended Posts

I'm not to my goal weight yet but I was wondering how one determines when it's a good time to have skin removal surgery and how that impacts ones' weight. By the I mean, as I get closer to goal I am losing weight more slowly, of course, but part of my wonders if I *can* get to goal weight or if some of the weight is excess skin. Thoughts?

Of course having excess skin removed will result in weight loss. Exactly how much weight loss depends on how much excess skin you have. Also, you will most likely not feel like eating for a while after the surgery, resulting in some weight loss as well. It is important to remember, however, that your skin will continue to tighten for a while after weight loss. You will probably not see final results for up to a year after you reach your goal weight. And of course, everyone is different. Many factors play into how well your skin responds to your loss.

Okay, ideally you are stable at goal for awhile. For people who decide to do skin removal and still lose more weight, wont have as tight of results.

The Dr Sauceda support group has several people who have gone this route...still overweight but making the most of their assets!

Do not plan on plastics as a weight loss technique...it isn't worth it forthat in my opinion. Plastics made me look normal and fixed much of the damage obesity caused and I am thrilled with it , but it is N O JOKE!

I weighed 150 at plastics and am committed to staying within 15# of that weight to preserve my results.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
