Clothes! Argh!

Recommended Posts

Please don't get me wrong, I'm THRILLED to finally be dropping weight - but I'm so frustrated tonight! I want to go out and NOTHING looks right. I could fit a sack of potatoes in the ass of all my pants, but my belly is still too big to go down a size.

Went shopping this afternoon and almost cried, because we all know the bigger you are, the bigger the gap between sizes, and I couldn't find a single thing that fit like it should.

Sigh. Oh well - by this time next year, I should be able to find something and feel cute in it!

It took nearly 50 pounds lost for me to drop a size or two from 26/28 to maybe 22/24. But once I hit oh...around 100 pounds down, I dropped sizes faster than you can imagine.

I was in a size 16 when I lost the first 100 but since then, I've dropped 50 more and gone from size 16 to a 6. Just hang in there...it will happen soon enough.

I feel your pain. I'm at the stage now where clothes are just starting to hang off me. It's a bit annoying because I don't buy cheap clothes. Right now I still have some things that were getting a bit snug but I don't know how long that's going to last. I'm just trying to stay focused on the fact that this is a good thing.

Leggings are your friends. So are dresses. If you have to maintain a business wardrobe, consider doing your shopping at thrift stores or places like Burlington Coat Factory.

I need to lose another 60 lbs to my goal. I feel like my body wants to stay in a size XL just to spite me. But I'm in misses sizes and that was half the battle.

I know its frustrating, but just wear something simple , and all people will be noticing is your weight loss and your BIG smile !!!!! PS - I still get 90% of my clothes at Goodwill, the smaller you get the more cute clothes they seem to have. I dress very nicely, always get compliments on my wardrobe !!! Congratulations on your weight loss, Happy New Year !!

I'm not going out this evening but it was casual day at work so I wore my black Fila workout tights and a hoodie. No makeup and hair pulled into a bandana. I'm lucky....losing slowly and consistently my skin is behaving even at nearly 51 years old :) Got more complements today than I have in a while. All I can say is sexy is an inside job. I worked it 270 (at one point) and I'm working it at 220+. Go with what's comfortable as its the person who makes the outfit....not the clothing.

@@Jugido64 - I'm 51 as well. I have great genes in my family. My grandmother was beautiful. My grandpop lived to 102. I have a high BMI so I now it's a long road uphill, but just looking at the way things are going so far my thighs may be my only problem area. I'm doing everything in my power to keep it that way.

I agree on dresses. Buy ones that look great belted or with a jacket! I have some that are actually 2 sizes bigger than I wear now, but they still look good belted.

I've lost so many inches from my hips, butt and thighs and not much from my waist. My legs and butt are a size 14 but my waist does not agree. Unfortunately I only have one pair of 16's, all my other pants are 18's and I could very well fit a sack of potatoes in the butt area. Lol! I feel your pain. My highest size was a 24 and I had many a nervous breakdown either trying to dressed for a social event or shopping for new clothes.

This has been my issue too!! Clothes oh my... I have went from a size 30/32 to a 12/14... Throughout this season of change Goodwill has been the best place for me... Being a teacher I had to make sure my clothes were presentable.... Skirts and more skirts. I did find I love to wear under shirts(tank tops) to help when the shirts are too short and pants/skirts seem too tight.. Helps with the rolls.. I told my husband the other day.. It is a woman thing...no matter your size you fight with clothes....

My name is Lisa and I am 26 years old. I have been happily married for 6 years and have a 3 year old daughter. I have battled my weight all my life and was banded on December 3, 2002. I had absolutely no complications and was back to work 3 days later. I started at 256 and to date have lost exactly 50 lbs. I could have lost more I'm sure, but I don't like to feel deprived, so I pretty much let myself have whatever I crave, only in moderation(Thanks to the band).

I would love to hear from any of you guys and I think a new support forum is really great. Good luck to you all and I look forward to hearing from you all:cool:

Hugs,

Lisa

you were a 24/26 and now size 6! That is amazing! I cannot imagine!!!! I wonder what size I will end up being. Congrats!

I knew you folks would understand! It's not a bad problem to have, and thankfully I can dress casually for work so it's not a big deal. I just wanted to be cute last night, lol.

A few more pounds and I should be down a size, then I'll quit complaining until I end up between that size and the next one down :D :D

Most people can't imagine it so I've attached a before/after picture so you can see what it looks like to lose that much weight. Good luck to you and know that if I can do it, so can you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
