Hey Sleeve Weavers! Feb 2015!

Recommended Posts

Well I really just joined Instagram to look at before and afters from sleevers. They show their progress and you can kind of see how and what they are doing on a regular basis. I honestly haven't dove too deep into Instagram. I am mostly just following people at this point but I hope to post my progress as well.

Hi everyone.. Sorry for the late reply. Been awfully busy. Sure appreciate you guys buddy-ing up with me. I am due for another session with my dietician on 19 Jan... but I have been told to be on Optimist 2 weeks prior to surgery. Having said that I was told to be on Optifast for a meal daily and slowly to 2 meals a day 2 days a week. Initially it was quite ok to follow this but lately I noticed i get hungrier.... Its like I HAVE to eat something... be it a piece of cracker or a slice of fruit to stave the hunger.. Anyone experience that? Its weird. Takes a lot of self control less i eat a whole cow...

Hello everyone.

Just joined recently, so I'm still exploring the site.

I am scheduled for mid-Feb but no exact date yet.

After a lot of research and Dr advice I have switched my course from the Band to the Sleeve. I feel a lot more comfortable with my decision. Just seemed to be too many issues and maintenance with the Band.

I have the fortune to able to do this thru my insurance and use True Results stateside. I had the obligation to go on a 6 month waiting period which ends February. I am both excited and dreading the upcoming changes.

I have about a hundred to lose so I can't afford to lose any more until just before surgery or I may get booted from the program. A great problem to have!

Just bought the Sleeve Book from Alex but haven't read any yet. He has quite the thing going on here.

I suppose I will have to start experimenting with the different shakes and such since we are on them for quite some time. Unfortunately I'm not a shake person nor a great lover of milk. Any words of advice?

Thanks!

Wil

I had originally thought about the band, too. But the success rates were not stellar and I don't like needles (for the fills) so I shied away from that pretty early on.

Welcome to the group! My youtube channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgvSAugTmyRTBm_ThLQurJg for anyone who is interested.

Today I want to wish all of the February 2015 Sleeve Weavers a Merry Christmas! Remember to log it before you eat it and be mindful.

I plan to swim right through the holidays! That means that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I will be up at 5:30 am and in the Water at 6 am.

I used to say, well heck, a day or so won't hurt, but now I know that the reinforcement of working out every day (except if I am injured or ill) is one that helps me keep going. After all, it's just 38 minutes out of my day. I am worth it!!

Jana

PS. I have changed my name legally from Janet to Jana. Just another part of my life change. At fifty years old, you ought to be able to pick your own name!

Lastly its going to be very hard to get all 60 grams of Protein down a day. Try to find a brand with the most protein so you don't have to force yourself to drink them. the Syntrax Nectar whey Protein Isolate have 23 Grams of protein so i only need 3 a day

Try Level, it's made for diabetic ppl, 1 g of sugar and 15 g of protein, it's 11 oz, a great supplement to the three meals a day... Also you can get it at Walmart, in the diabetic section, chocolate and vanilla, Both taste good to me... I also suggests getting a lot of differnt kinds, try then out, dont invest in a large quantity bc If you can't stand the taste or texture then you'd have wasted money and have a bunch of drink you don't want. Isopure vanilla powder, is my go to Protein Shake, I use 8oz of Kirkland (costco brand) original soymilk (9g protein), 1 scoop of isopure (25g protein) 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder and a splash of sugar free hazelnut coffee creamer, it's delicious, almost like a cold coffee, minus the coffee, and it's 34g of protein!

I am scheduled for Feb 3, I had insurance problems and was originally scheduled for Nov 3. However, everything is straightened out and I am set for Feb 3. I am married, mother of 2, grandmother of 6, just turned 59 yesterday. I work as an RN in WV. I have arthritis in my knees and they are bone one bone, so I have to lose weight before I can have knee surgery later on. I am excited, nervous and scared but so ready for a new start on life. I am happy to meet all of you all on here and WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
