Thanksgiving Eats!

Recommended Posts

Going to a brunch. Menu: bacon/cheese quiche, stuffed french toast, hash browns, sausage, assorted bagels/muffins/pastries, fruit. I am 10 weeks post op today. Have been doing reduced fat and no sugar since surgery. I worry about dumping syndrome. What is everyone's opinion about having a forkful of each?

Personally I would only have bacon/cheese quiche and sausage

I second that! Stick to the Protein. Or pick your top choice carb and have s CDs bites of that one only

Great advice! I went to Vegas last weekend to celebrates hubby's 60th birthday and ate too much carbs! I died which triggered an IBS episode that is still active. Not worth it! I am 9 weeks post op, RNY by the way.

In the restaurant, Id have only Protein, being careful to not overeat. I might take something home to try later. I'm just 4 weeks out from RNY. I'll be having 1.5 oz of lamb + a bite of sweet potato.

For brunch I had a couple tablespoons of stuffed french toast and sliver of quiche (didn't eat end crust). dinner I had tablespoon of each side and a slice turkey. Felt fine and tolerated it all (kinda scary) but found I was totally lacking in my daily Protein. Glad Thanksgiving is over!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
