OK do the Irish use stone's like the Brits - I keep hearing that term when i am watching the BBC channel, but don't know how much a stone is

Dini???

Not sure who uses that either, but

1 stone is 14 pounds

So that would definitely go in our favor too!!!! I vote for that one also, lol!;)

We haven't had a question of the day for awhile, unless I missed it, but what about ...

:)What stage of eating are you in and what do you eat on a typical day???? Maybe it will give some of us some new ideas!!! So, here goes:

I'm in the mushy, pureed, and/or soft foods, w/occasional meats as tolerated ...

Jeanie

Indiogirl, you have a 16 year old grandson!!!:) Yikes, lots of personality and OPINIONS at that age!!! :help: I'll bet he can be a great help though and you probably have an awesome relationship with him! I think being a Grandma would have to be wonderful! I look forward to that phase of my life and spoiling them and sending them home with their parents!!! LOL Not sure where you are, but that is driving age here in PA, which was another quite stressful adventure ... still is, on snowy, icy, sleety winter nights, lol!!!!! Oh, and fog, and EVERY accident that happens on ANY freeway anywhere near where they are supposed to be!!!! LOL Probably never will change, you worry forever!!!:help:

Jeanie

I am in California - Indio - near Palm Desert (Presdient Ford's Funeral)

Yes he can drive - but has to have permit for 6 months won't have his actual license until November... His Mom & Dad (my son) lived with me when he was born and i just took over - they broke up when he was 2 and he has always been more my child than theirs - He went to live with his dad & new step mom when he was 3 or 4 and I got him back when he was 11 and had him ever since. I think we have a great relationship as much as you can have one with a 16 yr old - somedays he talks to me and others he doesn't have the time :) - but again he is 16 and doesn't want the hugs and kisses like he use to :car:

So I am kinda bummed today. :car: I called the dr's office cuz tomorrow I get to start trying baby food, oatmeal, cream of wheat and I thought that I could take foods and just puree them into a baby food consistency. NOPE! Totally bummed. If it isn't on my list I can't eat it yet no matter what the consistency. Totally sucks! I am so craving tuna YUM!!! So I have to wait until next wednesday when I go for my two week post op appointment and hopefully that is when I can start eating tuna. I would think so. I mean on that same day I am allowed to start eating scrambled eggs and baked potatoe. I want my tuna!!!! I hope the baby food isn't totally gross. I am allowed to have stages 1 and 2. Any suggestions as to what is good or not??? :help:

Hi All,

Wow, was there a lot to read. There was a hot doc in the holding room that gave me my sleep meds.....His name was Joe and he had kids...that's all I got before I was out cold. But I am back and banded. I had trouble with scar tissue but was still able to get banded , I had a reaction to the pain meds and was monitored closely til midnight of my surgery. I have a little pain now that I am home and walking around but am taking liquid ibuprofen for it.

All in all I think the surg was much easier than I expected. Good luck to all coming up this week.

WTF - I don't know about your Doctor.... I bet you $1,000,000 that pureed tuna is more healther that baby food meat. OMG I would never eat baby food meat - maybe the fruit but that's about it - I won't get mushy till next week - and salmon is the 1st thing on my list - you must understand I am an OLD catholic school girl - so guess what i would be doing if your doctor was my doctor and told me that. Ok ya all right and go right home as puree up some tuna. For this to work you have to be senisble about it - I have dieted all my life and I could be a nurtionist.

Calories in calories out - exercise in exercise out - Portion control..

But don't listen to me as I don't conform to well;) - but use your best judgement.:phanvan

Lynette, Thanks for sharing! Mine was a little over $14K, since doctor and surgical hospital had package pricing and anesthesiologist had a pre-pay discount of over 50% I'm thinking worth it too! I've got my first post-op appt (10 days after). Real curious as to whether I get to move on to mushy foods or not.

No problem!!! I'm glad it isn't just me that forgets, lol!!! I was banded on July 9th! My doc seems to be more lenient than some of these! Not to go crazy and overdo, but able to try just about anything. :car:

How wonderful!! I am sure he is a joy!!!! They don't know what they want at that age, but it seems to all come back around! I loved when they were little and would sit on my lap! Now there are times that they will curl up beside me ... usually if they aren't feeling well or if something truamatic has happened, but nonetheless, they do every now and again! Got to cherish those little inklings of the days gone by!!!! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
