  1. thanks to all for the info I hope everyone has a great holiday. I plan on walking a LOT even before I leave for dinner with my family. I am walking 5-8 miles a day and that I think has been a great help with my weight loss.
  2. Hi All, I don't post, but I do read all the time. I am doing well, I've lost 67 lbs. since July 24th and just have a ?. Does anyone have a place where I can go on the puter that will give info on how much protein in foods. I still drink protein drinks and want to be able to keep track better of protein from just my food. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me and I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy, but be careful not to undo all the good work you all have done.
  3. shannon, I have not had a fill yet and have lost 25 lbs. since my surgery on 7/24. I do however walk 10,000 steps per day and eat only until I am satisfied, not FULL as I used to do. I have seen my doctor twice since my surg and he told me some people don't need fills as quickly as others. I still take 1-2 protein drinks per day and I think that helps Cate
  4. Hi All, I saw the doctor today and had my staples removed....that felt so good to get rid of them. He said I could start mushy stuff. For dinner I had 3T chicken, 1T carrots 1T mashed potatoe. It was like a feast LOL. I am so full. I am excited about getting back to work! I hope everyone has a great night.
  5. sunny, I had 2 small pieces of watermelon tonight too It was yummy!
  6. you will find here that each doctor is different. I was banded on 7/24 and I can only eat 2ozs of soup, or yogurt, or cottage cheese at each meal. I am also required to have 2 protein drinks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I shouls have 60 oz of water or crystal light drinks.I must take 20 mins to eat the meal and 1 hour to drink the drink. I think the amount you are doing might stretch your stomach. Just MHO.
  7. I hope the meds kick in quickly. If you don't get the help from the doctor tomorrow....find a new one. I don't think anyone should have a doc they don't feel comfortable with. I hope you are better asap!
  8. Hi , good luck to all going in this week to be banded. I saw my doctor today and he told me to continue with the tylenol for pain, gas x and added Imodium 3 times a day. He changed my bandages and said I am healing well. I will see him next Monday to have the staples removed and get back to work. God bless all you guys going back to work so early.
  9. hi all, I am no support for anyone else. I am still feeling lousy. The gas pains are better, I live on gas x but I have lost 11 lbs. since last Tues and I feel that is too much. I also get sick to my stomach at the smell of food cooking. Has anyone else lost this much in 6 days post op and are you sick at the smell of foods. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow first thing. I wish I could say I am happy about this surgery, but right now I think it's getting the better of me.
  10. I was told I couldn't swim for 2 weeks by my doctor.
  11. today is a little better for me. I ended up calling the doctor because the gas pains were so bad. So far this has no been a cake walk, but I hope the next day or 2 improves how I feel. I am taking only tylenol now for pain and gas x strips. I am having trouble eating. Everything tastes lousy.I have lost 6 lbs in 2 days.
  12. Hi Eileen, I was banded tues and I am having trouble sleeping as well. I am taking liquid ibruprofen for the pain. I sleep on my side and when I roll to either side it hurts. I figure this should only last a few more days. Lost 3 of the 5 lbs I gained from IV fluids though
  13. Kathy, You should be fine....you did 6 days and some people don't have a preop diet at all. Good luck tomorrow. We're all thinking positive thoughts for you.
  14. Hi All, Wow, was there a lot to read. There was a hot doc in the holding room that gave me my sleep meds.....His name was Joe and he had kids...that's all I got before I was out cold. But I am back and banded. I had trouble with scar tissue but was still able to get banded , I had a reaction to the pain meds and was monitored closely til midnight of my surgery. I have a little pain now that I am home and walking around but am taking liquid ibuprofen for it. All in all I think the surg was much easier than I expected. Good luck to all coming up this week.
  15. chim, good luck to you. I will be thinking of you . good idea not to go home alone. I have a husband here and 2 kids. My husband will probably be useless LOL, but my kids are 19 (twins) and so good to me. They will give me all the TLC I need.
