ive been making a chocolate Peanut Butter smoothie in the mornings and add a half banana... I'm going on my 7th week and would like to try a strawberry banana smoothie with vanilla Protein Powder but I need to buy vanilla Protein powder! Sounds yummy though!

I've used blueberries and strawberries before. Bananas are too high carb for my plan, I stay away from them.

I have added small amounts of fruit to shakes to get fruit into my diet. Bananas I add a 4 inch section of a banana to vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. I have added honey dew or cantaloupe to the vanilla, mango/peach or mellon shakes (my favorite is the mango/peach isopure). I have added blueberries, strawberries, mango, raspberries, peaches, pears, pineapple and apples to several different flavors of shake.

When I want a "full" shake I mix up a scoop of vanilla Protein powder, scoop of milled flax seed, tbs of chia seeds, kale, spinach, 1/4 pear, couple chunks of pineapple, and 1/4 cup of some type of berry. I add a couple ice cubes and a dash of almond milk to thin the mixture. This way I get fruit, veggies, Fiber and Protein for breakfast!

I will use 1/4 of a banana if I do - and I make sure it's not an overripe banana. I mainly use blueberries and strawberries.

Peaches sometimes a bit of spinach or occasionally a bit of almond butter. I HATE bananas.

I got the Nutri Ninja Blender…I'm not yet allowed to add the fruits, but it sounds yummy. Can't wait to try it! Right now at 3 days post op, I still have no appetite. I'm forcing down my regular shakes.

for a Breakfast smoothie I use spinach or kale, a orange, grated ginger and fat free milk. I share with my husband so I am only using a half of orange. and I put in vanilla Protein Shake.< /p>

Banana's are Sugar Bombs! 27 carbs and 14 gr sugar! My husband keeps offering me a banana, I keep telling him "NO! I can't eat that!"

I do add a 3 inch section of banana to a Protein shake on occasion. I slice them and put them into the freezer in a baggie. They are available when I need to use them in a shake. They make a nice icy consistency.

Like any other choice bananas need to fit into your food plan.

If I have a shake as Breakfast then I may add 1/4 cup of berries, or 1/2 of a banana. On any day that I have a banana that is my total carbs for the day. I do not eat them after high noon. I like the idea of putting banana in a chocolate Protein shake. When I was a teenager, my first job was at Dunkin Donuts as a donut finisher. Man oh man I loved that job. My favorite was the chocolate frosted banana cream filled, and somewhere along the line DD took them off the menu. Since I don't expect to ever step into a Dunkin Donuts again, the banana chocolate Protein Shake would be a good way to have the memory without 400 calories.

I've added fruit to my Protein smoothies from the very beginning. Peaches, mangos and bananas at first, but then strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc once I was OK'd for seeds at 3 months postop. My favorite is Premier chocolate, 10oz milk and 1/2 banana. Tastes like the milkshakes my dad used to make when I was a kid. Other favs are peaches with vanilla protein, Syntrax lemonade protein with fresh strawberries, and cake batter protein with raspberries. The one combo I found does not work well is adding pineapple to any milk-based shake. Makes it taste like you used sour milk. ????

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

And don't forget the mocha, Peanut Butter, pineapple, coffee...you name it. Let you imagination take over.

Mix it all up with Almond Milk in the blender, in the summer add a ice cube....

I have been making my own smoothies every morning for my breakfast ever since surgery.

At least 40gm of Protein, plus plenty of energy to last the entire day.

Try to match that up with something traditional like eggs, etc....

As a treat, I do use fruit and blend it in a shake. But I watch the intake for the day because you get lots of sugar in a shake. There's a tradeoff you have to watch.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
