2 Months Post-Op & told I've lost more than normal.....

Recommended Posts

Today I had my 2 month check up! I am feeling AMAZING!!! From the time I began my 6 month supervised diet, until now, I have lost 49 lbs. I began at 223 lbs and am now 174 lbs! In my 2nd month, I lost 15 lbs! They said I lost more than I really should in one month. Honestly, I'm not complaining at all. Like I said, I feel great! They want me to increase my calories, even though it seems like I am eating all the time as it is. I'm hitting my Protein & fluids & meals. My 1st month was really rough, got really sick with a cold & had to take a step back in my eating progress. This last month has been incredibly busy for me though. My business gets crazy, wild this time of year. Then my hubby is gone for his annual hunting trips and I am a Hunting Widow taking care of 3 little girls on top of chaos. So, I'm just going to contribute it to that.

Has anyone else lost 15 lbs in a month or told they lost more than usual? Just curious.

I did lose more than 15 lbs in a month, I would not change a thing if you are feeling good and losing weight. Just make sure are hitting your Protein goals, Water goal and have a reasonable number of calories a day.

Congratulations on your awesome progress.

I've averaged about that much per month since my surgery (I was 233 day of surgery and now ~6 months out I'm 140). The only reason I wish it had maybe happened a little slower is because I think my skin might have handled the loss slightly better.. but I dunno, maybe not. I'm still happy and my surgeon is super proud of me!

Thank you everyone!!! Congrats on all your weight loss too!!! That is amazing!!! I think I am going to keep doing what I am doing. My goals are being met daily, so I'm not really worried about it honestly. After all, I feel the best I have felt in a very, very, very long time! :)

Hi all, for myself I have whey chocolate shakes, cheese or cottage cheese with mash potatoes or puree vegetables, scrabble eggs for Breakfast or oats/porridge with lots of homemade Soups with Marvel. I exercise - 4 days per week for 45 minutes.

I've averaged 5 lbs a week. I wanted to lose 50 by year end and am at 47 lost now so am encouraged. Feeling pretty good. Starting to work out. Trying to eat healthy as much as possible. Overall, pretty positive.

I've been told I lost faster than "normal" since the first week. Was told not to expect to keep losing that fast, but I did. Was told to raise my calories and I did...some...as much as I could without being uncomfortable or eating too many carbs/sugar.

Some people are slow losers, some faster. I really don't think there's a whole lot you can do about it if you are following your dr's instructions.

And if it helps any, I lost 15lbs my first week. I lost 29lbs my first month. Now I didn't have a preop diet (except for two days Clear Liquids only) so that accounts for part of it.

I think your skin is looser when you lose quickly but it catches up. Mine was really bad at around six months, but now at almost a year out it's definitely catching up. Still want plastics, but it's not nearly as bad as I feared earlier.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
