Anyone Going Through Medicare Or Medicaid

Recommended Posts

Is anyone going through Medicare or Medicaid or both I have both, but Medicare is my Primary, and Medicaid is my Secondary. Does anyone if Medicare require a 6 or 12 month dietitian meeting. What are any other requirements they have?

I have Iowa medicaid and I know they require the six months. I think it all depends on your state. I know in Nebraska medicare doesn't require a six month physician weight management program. I think they require a nutrion evaluation and a psych evaluation. I just finished up my 6moths and am waiting on approval from the insurance company now

I'm in Ohio with Medicare and Medicaid (with a spenddown). I had to do 3 months but I don't know if that was the Medicare requirement or just the program I'm working with.

I went thru my medicare advantage plan and I had no stipulations as far as months on a weight loss program. My surgery was approved on the first try as I have had high blood pressure, arthritis and gerd. And I also had a BMI of almost 41

Oh Ok I found out today they don't require it, although I've done 16 months and done with it now because when I started I had just medicaid and they required a year actually, and now I also have Medicare as my Primary and Medicaid is my Secondary I am waiting on a answer as well so I can continue on to see a Psych Dr. and a surgeon

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
