  5. I just got my surgery date. It is Jan. 7th 2015. What a way to start the new year. I am excited. I start my pre-op diet on the 27th of this month. Little worried about that just liquids may be difficult. Has anyone else from Ia. found out when there surgery dates are.

  13. I completely understand. My brother keeps asking me why I still want to go through with the surgery since I have lost 42 lbs on mine own. I have told him because I have done this before only to gain it back I need that little bit of help. I told him I still have to continue to eat better and that this is not a quick fix. He keeps trying to talk me out of it so I think I will not say anything to him until after the surgery and then it will be to late for him to say anything. My boyfriend is on board with it but my children are like my brother so I guess I will just keep confiding in my boyfriend. I will know my surgery date after Dec. 9th,

  15. hi ladies I have had hemorrhoids since I started this prep op diet. I find out on the 9th when I have my surgery. I understand how painful they are. I have used all the over counter stuff with no relief except the wipes and that is short term. I have learned the looser the stool the better. I take miralax every morning this last week and it;s been so much better. I was told by the pharmacist that you can use it everyday. I hope it keeps working. If I find my stool is to loose than I will skip one day of miralax. So that is my opinion I hope that helps a little.

  19. I was approved and have an appointment with the surgeon on Dec. 9th and I think we will discuss surgery date then. At least I hope so
  20. I have a visit with my surgeon Dec. 9th to discuss surgery date. I am nervous and anxious at the same time. But like everyone here so ready to get this done.
  21. I have an appointment with the surgeon on dec. 9th to schedule surgery. I am already getting nervous and then I read this post lol. I hope it's worth all this. I just want to be healthy but afraid of some things I have been reading.

  26. Thank you. I did everything they required and I have at least 5 cormobities one of which is heart disease which I had a bypass 9 years ok so I would hope that might persuade them.. but I guess we will see
  27. well it's been a week today since paperwork was submitted to medicaid and haven't heard anything yet. I have been doing this since May and am so ready to get this over with so I can start living a more full life. I miss working and doing things with the grandkids. I just wish they would hurry and and make up their minds whether to approve me or not.
  28. great article. I wish my brother could accept this. He thinks because I have lost 37lbs that I can do it on my own. He has watched me over the years and knows I have been struggling with my weight all my life. He keeps telling me that people die from this surgery especially the one's who weigh more. I have done my research and know that this is very slim but he just doesn't seem to listen. I wonder if he may be having a hard time with my decision because he is very overweight himself. I am going through with this I have worked to long and hard for this. It's my turn to be healthy
  29. I totally understand every thing you are going through. I just finished up my 6 month so only having to do 3 is great. I also have lost a total of 37 pounds in 6 months but it is so not easy. I have never been a person who likes sweets but lately especially I have been craving them and letting myself stop and by something on my way to work. So I decided no more and now it;s been two days since I have. I hope I can keep it up. My paperwork has been submitted to insurance yesterday so we will see if they will approve me. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it dosen;t take much longer been doing this for a long while at least if feels like that. I am doing fitness pal and it has helped a lot. I also ride my bike 30 minutes 4x a week. So hang in there it will be time for surgery before you know it
  30. I use fitness pal and love it. It has been a big help to help with keeping track of my calories. I would recommend it to anyone.
  31. I started back in April 2014 and am just submitting paperwork today to medicaid so we will see what they say. I am hoping so I can get some weight off and get back to work. I miss working believe that or not. It's hard to keep a job when you can't stand very long because of bad knees and weight.
