So diappointed

Recommended Posts

I just got a call from the doctors office. They said my insurance won't pay for the surgery because I don't have diabetes. Now I don't know what to do. My primary doctor told me that there is no way I can lose the weight without surgery. I can't afford to pay for it as I am unemployed and my husband is the only one with an income. I am so defeated and depressed. I don't know what I'm going to do. I just want to crawl in a hole and hide.

I am so sorry. Can you appeal their decision? Have your doctor State that it is medically necessary?

Don't give up.

Fight back and appeal that decision by your insurance company.

Have your surgeon and PCP write letters to confirm that this is medically necessary to have done.

You'll never know unless you stick up for yourself what can happen.

Go for it.

Good luck...

Definitely follow through with an appeal like everyone else said! They may say no the first time, but they should understand with the extra weight you're at a greater risk for diabetes and other comorbidities. They'll be paying more if you should develop other diseases. Also, your doctor needs to fight for you. Do not give up now!!!

For sure you should appeal their decision. I've read somewhere, maybe on this site, about the best way to appeal a denial. Maybe try searching for denial or appeal. I've also read a lot of appeals get approved when done right. There's work involved in fighting their decision, but if the goal is worth it, and we all know it is, then you should go for it. Don't give up!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
