So my son want to go to the state fair. This is the last week for it. My surgery date is Nov. 14th, and I started my pre-op diet of protien shakes, bars, Soup, and lots of Water last week. Would it be hurtful is I got one thing to eat while at the fair (preferably the onion blossom) or should I just stay away from the food competely? I already gave away my chocolate popcorn I ordered from my son's fundraiser. There is a lot of walking too at the fair. I should probably just stay away right?

if you have already started your pre op diet I would stay away from it just so you don't jeopardize having your surgery pushed back it is not worth it

There will still be food available after your surgery. :) Best to follow 'the plan' that your surgeon/nutritionist have prescribed.

Best of luck!

My date is 11/14 too! I will be on vacation in San Diego when I start my pre-op diet. I'm just thinking of the money that I'll save from not eating out at restaurants during that time. Good luck!

@@aunger07

if you would be tempted by other foods/smells - i would stay away from the fair :(

you are pre op - IF you could have that ONE onion blossom and stop - go for it

if you want to show your "strength" to yourself

of not eating the onion blossom at the fair, thats cool too :)

sometimes abstinence is best ;)

November 14th will be a great day to start your healthier, happier, longer life :)

good luck

speedy recovery :)

So I did it. I made it through the fair without eating anything. All I did was just drink Water. Everything smelled so good but I just kept telling myself that next year I will be thinner and will be able to ride more rides with my son. I wont have that excuse I am to big to fit on the ride.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
