Help! 4Months Post-op and dry heaving

Recommended Posts

As my tag line says I am 4 months post-op and I am dry heaving quite often after eating and some times even if I haven't eaten. The only things I am able to eat are fruits and veggies. Typical day I eat one orange and a cup of mushrooms/carrots and on occasion I can eat shrimp. All other Protein makes me nauseaus. Anyone else having these issues?

So tired of having no energy and unable to eat anything. When will this get better? I am sooooooo regretting the surgery. At this point I wish I never had it. I want this feeling to change but right now I am mentally stuck.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Time to talk to your doctor. There are meds that they can give you to help. They will also want to make sure you do not have a stricture.

Also this will pass and is normal to feel regret. We all go through it. Things will get better and easier.

Are you getting enough Protein? DId you do okay on liquid diet? You might want to back up your diet to a previous stage where you weren't dry heaving. Rhe maintain thing is to get your Protein.< /p>

I agree try liquids and talk to your Dr. I also went through this about the same time. To be honest mine was stress. I have learned really quickly that my new stomach and body doesn't handle stress or getting upset the same way any more. I get nausea and then if I eat it causes the dry heaving. Another time I would dry heave is during brushing my teeth. I felt like I couldn't breath and too much foam and I would start heaving.

Sorry you are going through this. It has calmed down for me in learning how to adjust to my emotions.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
