Hi everyone! I've made it to Mexico. Done my pre op testing and we are hanging out at the hotel right now. Went down to the restaurant and had my broth while my husband got some food. My mother in law is here with us also and she unfortunately was told she can't have the surgery because she is severely anemic and they think she might have a tumor on her lung.

Thanks for checking in @@smb0187! I'm really, really sorry about your mother-in-law. That's awful news!! I hope she's able to get a full check up when she gets back home. :(

Can you tell me what your pre-op testing was like?

@@Revgirl -- how's it going for you?

@@Revgirl - thinking about you.......

@@smb0187 - thanks for keeping us informed. Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law - hopefully she will make an appointment for further testing as soon as she gets home.

What time did you arrive that you were able to get your testing done yet today? Did you see your surgeon yet? How is the hotel?

@ - how are you feeling?

I'm actually kind of hot right now so I have a cold compress on my head. I've been taking my antibiotics so hopefully nothing more will come of it. Besides that I'm feeling pretty good physically but I'm kind of frustrated with my husband. He brought home a hamburger and French fries. Now he's sitting beside me eating an ice cream cone. *I will not punch him, I will not punch him...*

Oooof, krisrpaz. I'm deep into the liquids only pre-op and if my spouse showed up with a hamburger and fries, I would probably cry. Just sayin'... I know that a temp of up to 100.3 is normal after anesthesia, so I hope yours stays low-grade. How's the drinking going?

Hi @SusieMN! :)

It's not too difficult to get liquids in but getting Protein in is a little different. I just don't care for the taste of Isopure. I am looking forward to full liquids next week.

We got to the hospital at about 11 and they did the testing then. They do blood work, take a urine sample, take a chest x Ray and do an EKG.

My husband just sat here and ate rice pudding and also has blue berry cheesecake. Since I'm so close to having the surgery I'm ok with it.

I'll arrive and have surgery at OCC on the 14th and leave for home on the 17th. We are also staying at the Marriot hotel. Only six more days!! I'm super excited to FINALLY be done with the "planning" stage and move on to the actual "doing and accomplishing" stage.

And in case we all do have the opportunity to meet - Hi, my name is Stephanie. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
