Hello Wildgoose and group, i can relate to why you waited for the surgery. I waited years, because I thought having a gastric bypass was too aggressive. I thought I could do the good ol' fashion way, diet and exercise.. making lifestyle changes. Needless to say, it didn't work for me. So, I had my surgery in Oct 2014, and have no regrets!! I'm grateful for a successful surgery. My hugest weight was 321, and now I am 255. Im not tech savvy, so I dont know how to download some pics to share with the group. Yikes! I drank some wine last night. A half of a glass was a bit much for my pouch.

My struggle with this process is not drinking while eating. Does anyone else have this challenge??

yes that is one of my biggest issues because I have nutcracker esophagus and have a tendency to choke when I eat.

@auriP.. I completely understand what you're saying. I feel I'm not losing the way i want to. But, however for me, im not weighing things.. I do walk at least 5500 steps a day, im most comfortable with soft foods. I know i would lose more if I journaled, and being more cognitive. I do eat healthy. My surgery was 10.6.14, and my pre surgery weight was 292, and im 254 now.

@Superbariactricbabe, I sip during meals and after as well. I don't know ifnits bad or how it can affect weight loss. I will have to ask my MD. It really has been the hardest transition for me.

Oh my goodness, I've missed so much this weekend! I will try and catch up tomorrow!

Had a super busy day yesterday and today was total lazy day! Slept in very late, felt amazing!! Must have needed the sleep. But it put me behind on eating and drinking. It was a struggle all day going up and down stairs to the bathroom and to do laundry. My legs just burned and ached like I'd worked out like crazy, but I didn't....

Off to bed I go. See. You all tomorrow!

That's almost 40 pounds. That sounds like you're doing amazing. Keep up the great work.

New milestone 80 pounds down. I can not believe it. Last year at this time, I was miserable, saw no hope for the future and look at me now. 25 pounds from my goal weight, Woot Woot!

@@smiley922 Imagine carrying 80 lbs. What if you were to take a bag of that size. I bet you wouldn't even begin to lift it of the ground. Yet, you walked with it all day. No wonder you were miserable. We all were. I hated going up the stairs because it hurt. Taking the groceries out from the car was a chore. Everything was hard. Even though I am nowhere near 80 lbs I can already feel a huge difference. What kinds of differences do you see in yourself?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
