That is the stall. I started mine as soon as I started pureed foods. It lasted for 12 days then I dropped 4 lbs and am now the same for the past 4-5 days but my good old aunt is here so that could be why I'm still the same weight.

I'm at a little stall too. I've been at 219 for about 4 days. But I figured it would slow down once I started eating more than liquids. And I'm still not as active as I think I should be, so that should help once I can do that.

My surgeon also pushes the 64oz of liquids and at least 60g of Protein a day.

I am having a REALLY hard time getting in more than 32oz of liquid though!

When you're not supposed to drink for half hour before you eat and an hour after---but eat 4-6 little "meals" day?! Well, gleeps, it's like a full time job timing the drinking! And I'm already working a full time job.

But I'm trying!

Oh, and I keep track of calories/ Protein, etc on MyFitnessPal. I'm averaging 550 calories a day. I've tried to get in more, but I just can't do it! And I just checked and I'm only averaging about 45g of Protein. Gleeps.

Ugh...lunch is not setting well. Nauseous.. Not sure if it was the mayo, cream cheese, or I just didn't chew enough. Hope this passes soon!

I haven't started tracking my calories yet. I do get in 1 Protein Drink a day of the GENEPRO, my nut says that's enough. Plus I get in at least 32 oz of liquids. I try for 64 but it doesn't always happen. I don't wait a whole hour after eating. I wait about 30-45 minutes depending on how I'm feeling. At work its hard to get in all my fluids, I do try though. And I had to switch up my Vitamins so I can get them all in. I take all but my Calcium before work, then on my 2 breaks that are usually 3 hours apart I take my Calcium. It's working so far.

I've been tracking calories for so long, I'm just used to it. It's nice now to see the scale moving. The My Fitness Pal website and Fitbit website I'm on was always saying I should be losing weight, according to my activity and eating. BUT I NEVER LOST ANYTHING! (obviously, before surgery☺)

I have one Vitamin that I have to take 4 times a day. It's called optisource. Then a Vit B1 ( I take mid morning) Vit D later in the day and Calcium I've been taking in the evening.

I usually don't wait that full hour either--I'm so used to drinking with my meal. I'm sure if I could drink closer to the 64oz my bowels would be a little happier. I'm going about once a day now, but I was used to going 3-4 times with no problems before surgery. (with the Magnesium Vitamins I was taking--I can't take them anymore)

Hehee, isn't it crazy how full we get! I love it, yet when something doesn't set well, I hate that it seems like I'm doomed the rest of the day. It's like I'm afraid to eat again for fear it'll make me sick again.

Question!

I had BAD reflux and hiatal hernia before surgery. But about 3-4 weeks before surgery it had actually calmed down ALOT.

Well, it's BAD again! I had been told with the RNY it pretty much assures you that you won't have reflux?! I'm not over-eating.

I'm on 40mg of omeprazol a day, plus prescription Pepcid. I'm not sure if it's just still swelling in there or what.

My surgeon did say I'd have to be on omeprazole for the rest of my life because I have Barrett's Esophagus. (caused by food getting constantly stuck when I had the lapband and I had to throw it up almost daily)

But I'm really hating waking up all through the night with that nasty feeling in my throat.

*note, I'm sleeping with the head of the bed raised, on my back, with 3 pillows still.

Any suggestions?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
