Just started my pre opp diet

Recommended Posts

I recall reading and being told, that the better you do on pre-op, the better you will do post op so there is some incentive! Walk away from food. You have nothing to prove at this time so don't tempt yourself. Mix it up. chicken broth and black pepper can taste awesome. If you can eat yogurt or carnation no sugar added preakfasts, those are filler uppers. Good luck, oh and you might get crabby!

I am on day 8 of the pre op diet. I am allowed only sugar free liquids for 14 days. I have been on target the whole time. I think some of what I read on this forum has helped me stay on track. I've heard that the surgeon can tell by the sight of your liver whether you have stuck to liquids or not. It is possible that, if you have cheated on the pre op diet, that he could stitch you back up and send you home. The thought of this horrifies me and has actually helped me stay on track when I get really hungry or have cravings.

I have been to two family gatherings (barbecue and wedding shower) that had loads of tempting foods since I've been on my pre op diet. I've been doing this mental trick in which I convince myself that solid food is poisen. I know that sounds silly, but I've been wanting this surgery for the past year and I'm not gonna blow it by cheating. Also, if you keep yourself busy and exercise, it really helps. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
