Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered Bandsters

I've been spending a lot of time in Rants & Raves since I joined LBT, partly because it's fun, but also because for the most part it's very GLBT friendly. Unless I haven't looked in the right place, I don't think there's a support thread for us, so I decided to start one!

A little about me. I'm Eddie & I'm a 42-year-old Gay man. I have a partner of just over nine years (henceforth referred to as DH), a 17-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter. DH and I are stupid. Don't believe me, just ask our kids. DH has hypothyroidism and had not been able to lose any weight after his thyroid "went nuts" several years ago. I've just been overweight all my life. He was banded on 2/21/07 and I'm getting mine next Wednesday (5/16). I can't wait!

Anyway, I would love to hear from all the GLBT folks out there. Hopefully this can be a place for us to freely discuss our unique issues and get support we may not be able to get elsewhere.

I guess now we can really say we're husbands!! ROTFLMFAO!!!

That's terrible... :)

(it did make me laugh, though)

Hi Eddie.

It's Mark from Australia (banded 15 May) and I too am "a friend of Dorothy". I've been with my partner for 14 years... he's 13 years my senior & is very supportive of my banding. I also have a 3 year old son who I had with a female friend - she also is very supportive. My goal now is to look great for the cruise we 4 (Mom, Dad , my partner Des & our son - Cooper) are doing just after Christmas this year.

If you'd like to email me directly... i'd love to hear from you - since you were banded on practically the same day as me..and you are nearly the same age as me & have kids too :)

My work email address is..... mhines@bunnings.com.au

That's my work email... which I am starting back at tomorrow.

I've given you that one - cause that's the one that I check the most.

Love to all the other GLB&T banders out there !!!

Any one in Brisbane or Australia that want to chat ???

The little pic is me & my son in Fiji last New Years Eve.

Isn't he a little spunk - just like his Dad !!!

Today he's home from Day Care with me cause he's a bit sick.

But tomorrow it's back to "normal" life for both of us :)

Deevah

How cute are you two!?

Very nice picture.

How is your weight loss, compared to each other? Do you get competative? It must be nice to be sharing the experience together. Getting slim and hot(ter) at the same time has got to be great fun!

My GF is working on her not very heavy self, she's lost 14 or the 20 she's shooting for, and since I've been dropping pounds rolling around together has been even more fun! :) I never thought I'd have reason to use that smilie!

OH Juli

Hello Gay and Lesbian Bandsters!!! How did I miss this thread? I've told (part of) my story a million times on the Rants and Raves forum but in a nutshell I am lesbian but I am married to a man. I got married really young and I still really love my husband but we are living like brother and sister rather than husband and wife. We have an arrangement that has been working for us for three years now; I have a girlfriend and otherwise for him it's an "open" marriage. We're a very unconventional couple to be sure but we love and respect each other and have a life together that we have built and that we love. We went through alot of pain to arrive where we are now and there were alot of tears. But I can honestly say we've been pretty happy for the last year or so and things have really stabilized now. He and my girlfriend are friends with each other. We're definitely not "swingers" or anything like that but we found ourselves in a situation where I realized I was Gay but I did not want to leave him and he didn't want me to leave either. So we're making it work for us. He is a great person and a great support and I love him alot. I'm so happy to meet all of you fellow peeps and look forward to supporting each other!

I HAVE BEEN GONE FOR ONLY 1 WEEK AND FIND THAT THIS THREAD IS REALLY POPPIN!!!! I'VE MISSED YOU ALL!

MsDad: I am sooooooooooooo happy that you are doing well. I didn't expect otherwise. Here's another hug congratulating you and your road to success.

Stevee: You and your girlfriend are beautiful - so very cute together.

Deevah: aaaawwwwww. Awesome. I can't wait to be married too!

Kathy: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome

Sunta: Wow! I'm happy that you and your husbasnd were able to come to an agreement. The both of you are really strong to decide on something like that.

Mgh: Welcome!!!!!

Oh Juli: Girrrrrrrrrrrlllllllll!!!!!! I know you had a wonderful time with DP. Please try to post of a pick of the two of you. I will do the same. oh yeah, you so naaaasssty...lol

Well everyone, I had a wonderful time visiting my sweety. She had not seen me since surgery and when she picked me up from the airport her eyes popped right out of her head. She could not stop staring and smiling. I was happy but started to get a little uncomfortable. She always tells me that I'm beautiful and that she loves me no matter what. I don't know, maybe I was uneasy for nothing.

It's great to see everyone doing so well!

Ok...So I messed everything up because I was trying to edit. I don;t have the patience to rewrite everything I entered. I hope that you guys can figure out what I wrote. If not, please let me know!!

Awwwwwwwwwwwww thanks Afrykanvyolet!!!

Yenken,

Welcome back!!! We've missed you, but as you can tell, we've been busy over here. I hope your trip was delicious!! I get to see my partner every weekend, I can imagine how hard it is for you and Julie:)

Sunta~ Welcome! It is a nice happy place here, where we can let our hair down and be ourselves. I am out in all the threads too, but here, I am among family. We hope you like it here!

Eddie~ How you doing? I hope your starting to bounce back. We are waiting for you :)

My students are taking a final, and the only noise in the classroom is my typing...damn, I guess no teacher of the year award for me now!

Peaceout

Oh yeah...Hi and welcome Mark (wondering if I forgot anyone else??) My partner and I went to Figi last Christmas...beautiful. We stayed on Tombera Island. Anyway your little man is a doll!

Yenken

WOOT I'm so happy to see you back!!!!!

I'm sure you and your sweetie had a fantastic time. I could insert that nasty fruit sex smilie here. Hee, hee. But you know what I'm talking about. A few pounds lighter and it's already better. I can't imagine what it will be like at goal!

I'll happily send you a picture of me and my sweetie to your email but I'm reluctant to put it on the web. She's out to the entire world but not at work. The reality that someone would see it on here is slim, but I have to respect her wishes. She's pretty visable where she works...Female engineer, black and gorgous! I'm not biased!

So how did you do with eating while away? Are you in school this summer?

:) Juli

Wow, I don't check the thread for a day and look what happens! Welcome Mark! We do have a lot in common - I'll e-mail you privately. Sunta, great to see you found your way here from R&R! Welcome to my new home away from home! Yenken, good to have you back. I"m glad you had such a great time with your DP. OH Juli, thanks for not inserting the nasty fruit sex smilie. I'm not sure even I could handle it!

Sean and I bought a new motorhome a few days before my surgery. We went to take delivery this afternoon and move everything over from the old one. I had no idea how much crap we had accumulated. It took several hours to get it all moved, and it's not even put away! I was a good boy and didn't lift anything. In fact, I mostly supervised! :heh: Nonetheless, I'm totally pooped and more than a bit sore. But nothing some drugs haven't already helped considerably!! Hey, any other campers/RVers out there? And by chance, is anyone going to Gay Days at Disney World next month??

Hay Eddie, I am a big RV nut, We have a 29' travel trailer and yes I pull it with a big bad a$$ truck, lol . We are looking into trading it in for a class A for two reasons, 1. I can drive for hrs, my partner does not like to ride for a long time so if she could go lay down we could cover more ground. We also ride quads so when we go out to ride and make a weekend trip of it we have to take two vehicles. Ok I will stop because I love to go out and camp. Won't be coming to FL. for gay days this year.
