I am just wondering what everyone used for the broth pre and post op? Just regular chicken or beef broth or something else? Did you put any Protein powder in it or just take it without??

Thanks in advance! Karen

I tried many variations and my favorites were the flavored broths like miso, garlic and lime/chili/chicken. All with a scoop of Isopure whey Protein. My hands down favorite is the Miso with isopure. It tastes like a "normal" Soup which is important to me.

I used powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored Protein powder both pre and post op. Mixed it with chicken broth, beef broth, Swansons Tortilla Soup base, Chinese Hot and Sour soup base, strained miso and wonton soup broths. When I was on full liquids postop I also mixed the Protein Powder with diluted strained cream Soups.....shrimp, mushroom, Tomato, asparagus, lobster bisque, butternut squash, etc.

The best Way found was to mix the Protein Powder with a tiny bit of Water in a Blender Bottle first. Then stir the Protein slurry into the soup. Make sure it is not over 140 or it will clump. Soups were a welcome change from the sweet shakes and warm felt better on my healing sleeve.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
