Hi all I have a question for those who are post surgery. I am scheduled for tge sleeve on oct 7 and I am 5'2, 194 lbs. I have always had big legs and one of my goals is to be able to go into any store and be able to but any high boots I want instead of only the ones for fat girls. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Oh Yes! That's a goal for me too. Even though they make extended calf now, I want to wear the regular ones :-)

I cannot find boots that fit me right because my legs are too thin. I need special boots with narrow calves. Go figure!

Yes, you will be able to do it. I have always carried my weight in my legs and butt. Even as a fit ski instructor in my 20's I gad a hard time finding boots that would fit over my huge cankles. I can now pull on any boot I see. I went from 238 to 139, and lost a lot more circumference in my legs than I ever imagined I could. In fact, I was fitting into regular boots 30 pounds ago. It's so cool!

This thread is encouraging for me too! I carry my weight in my legs (see my gallery) and haven't worn boots that could go over my calves in my entire adult life. Even at my thinnest (165) I couldn't wear boots that went past the bottom of my calves. Hopefully that will change in the next year!

I dunno, I'm down to 199 from 265, and I've always had thick calves, now just as much as before. Don't get me wrong, I've lost a couple centimeters off my calves, but proportionally, I'm highly skeptical that it will improve much. The tissue just doesn't feel soft like fat. It feels like bone and muscle, always has. I think I just have huge calves. And all I want is to wear skinny jeans :(

Oh my God! Juts my thought exactly!!

I've never been able to wear long boots ever and one of my dreams would be wearing ones!

However my calves are quite big since forever, and it's propbably the only area in my body that are quite strong with muscle (especially now, they are so hard!) I still hope to be in a nice paire of long boots, with high heels.. aww it would be so awwwwesome!

Haha, I literally just had a debate with myself today about buying knee high boots online! I've always had thick muscular calves, so boots never fit me, even when I was thin. A few weeks ago I bought a pair of thigh high boots for my Halloween costume and those suckers didn't even come close to fitting my thighs.

I'm sure it is all in how you lose weight, but for me, my legs are very muscular, so short of losing all my fat in other places and then eating away at the muscle, I doubt that I will fit in the cool boots until I am very thin.

Fingers-crossed for everyone that has this as one of their future NSV goals- I'm right there with you!

I hate to say it, but I can't wear boots. My calves are still too big for even the wide calf boots. I'm seriously thinking about liposuction, or something. I really thought I would be able to find something, but even the biggest ones are still about an inch from zipping at the widest part of my calves. Hopefully I'm not the normal one, and the rest of you can wear cool boots!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
