So I was banded in Dec 2012 by the end of June 2014 I was under my goal weight and felt great!!! Well here it is almost Oct and I've put 57 pounds back on 51 of which were in 12 days when I first got sick! I got sick in July I was swelling bad couldn't get nothing down not even Water to so I went and seen my doctor. I wanted her to take all the Fluid from my band but she wouldn't (which now I am so grateful for). Since then there is still no diagnoses with what was wrong with me (if i go off the meds i was put on i swell up). I am going to different doctors trying to figure it out hopefully I'll get answers soon. But I have gotten two fills since the the end of July and I have no restriction and I am always hungry. I am going to see my doctor next week and I'm hoping that she can give me advice on what to do. But right now I just feel like I keep putting weight on. I am working out and trying to eat right but I feel like I'm starving between meals. I just want to get back down where I was I didn't realize then how great it was!

Sorry for the rambling I'm just so frustrated and really wanting answers=(

Ivy, sending best wishes your way -- sometimes it seems like these human bodies are just bags if chemicals. I'm glad you're aggressively seeking medical attention. Twenty-five years ago I put on fifty pounds in a couple of weeks. In my case it was a reaction to IV steroids. Got off the steroids but it took years to recover and I put on more weight. Could not drop at all until I got my band, so happy about that. Take good care, don't panic -- I find writing notes before and after doctor's visits helps me give them the details they need. And come here anytime -- it's why we are all here, to support each other.

@@ivyh are you taking a steroid like prednisone? If you are on something like that it could be the meds that are making you more hungry as well as putting weight on you. Certain anti-depressants and even NSAIDS can cause Water retention etc.

Don't give up, keep pressing Dr.'s to find out what's going on with you and see if they can find a medication that works with your weight loss goals but keeps you feeling good. The most important thing is your health so don't stress over the weight gain too much right now, light a fire under the Dr :)

Try to if you can manage it to break up your meals into smaller more frequent portions so you feel like your eating something every few hours but keep your portions in check and that might help. I had to have Fluid removed recently and that is what is getting me through. Having something every few hours, and I have actually lost 4 pounds!

Feel good and let us know what your Dr.'s say.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
