What is everyone NOT going to miss after sleeve?

Recommended Posts

OMG! and I thought I was the only one who sweats all the time! smh.. that is the FIRST thing I cannot wait to stop doing. It is so embarrassing to be so cute and cant look anyone in the store or anywhere else in face cuz i'm sweating profusely!!!!! ugh.

For some reason I sweat really bad in places where there are fluorescent lights. I don't know, but going to malls, schools, and other public places makes me super sweaty. I always feel like they need to kick up the A/C a notch, but then I realize I'm just fat, LOL!

I am also going to throw in-- I am NOT going to miss using a TON of lotion all the time. I feel like I use like a 1/2 cup in the morning because of all the surface area. Goal, maybe a few Tablespoons ;)

But I'm serious. A full body lotion job once per day (dry, cold climate for me) has me going through a large bottle of lotion about once per month.

I basically fund Oil of Olay.

@@Aussie chick Hehe thanks!

I was able to get into the page OK...you might try deleting your Cookies and going again. The other day I was having issues, too. I gave up after a bit and was able to get in fine about an hour later. Good luck! :)

I'm not going to miss the feeling of walking into a room and thinking everyone is thinking about how fat I am.

I'm not going to miss being the fat friend.

I'm not going to miss being too self conscious to dance, feeling like people are laughing at me.

I'm not going to miss my weight being everyone's obvious go-to insult when shit hits the fan.

I'm not going to miss immediately taking down family pictures I've been tagged in on Facebook because of my bad self image.

I'm not going to miss my terrible asthma.

I'm not going to miss all my pants fitting on me like a rubber band fits around a marshmellow (lol)

I'm not going to miss the disgusting amount of guilt and disappointment I feel when I fail yet another diet.

I'm not going to miss the debilitating back, knee, and ankle pain I feel after a good day of hard work.

I'm not going to miss avoiding hanging out with friends, and making new friends, for fear of being judged by my weight.

I'm not going to miss wearing a sweater all year long because it's the only thing I'm comfortable wearing.

I can't wait until my outsides match my insides<3

I can't wait until I'm more than a pretty face.

I can't wait until my body doesn't have to lug around all this nonsense.

I cant wait until there's room between my body and the arm rests in movie theater seats.

I can't wait for cheek bones and collar bones!!! :]

I can't wait until I'm not judged for my waistline.

I can't wait to be able to take a bath, and still have room for more than just a couple cups of Water in the tub lol

I can't wait until my weight doesn't hold me back.

And I can't wait to see where this takes me. Let's do this damn thing ;)

I will not miss trying to find short sleeve t-shirts that don't look like rubber bands around my arms.

I will not miss kankles.

I will not miss being at the doctors office getting weighed and having the nurse set the scale to 200 and having to tell her it needs to start at 250.

I will not miss the acrobatic feat of going through a turnstile.

I will not miss every pair of pants gapping in the back.

I will not miss the fear of waiting for the day that one of my kids friends saying something about their 'fat mom' and them be embarrassed of me being their mom.

I will not miss constantly feeling fat all the time around my skinny friends. Constantly worrying if someone is judging my weight.

I will not miss making excuses to my kids at waterparks and amusement parks because I'm afraid my hips won't fit. Only has to happen once to never want to experience that again.

I just graduated with my Masters'...in the ceremony, the graduates were sitting jam-packed close to each other. In the future, I won't miss my hips and butt spilling over my chair :/ Too bad I didn't accomplish weight loss before the Masters' so I could sit comfortably during the ceremony. Not to mention worry that my zipper was going to detonate lol.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
