SEPTEMBER 2014 POST-OP SLEEVERS CHECKING IN!

@@ShortiAKA 85% of the time you throw up while eating? poor thing... did you talk to your doctor about that? that would be horrible. At almost 7 weeks out I think it should be easier going than that.

Had surgery 9/4/14 and lost around 22lbs so far. At first I was disappointed, but after reading the experiences of others I felt better. Also even though my weight loss is a bit slower than I expected I've moved from size 18 to size 12 in pants. My body shape looks and feels completely different. Just a friendly reminder for us all that the scale is not the only indicator of success.

I'm so glad it isn't just me....I was getting nervous about visiting my surgeon for my 5 week follow -up because I'm only down about 3lbs since I saw him at my 2 week follow up. (Down about 38-39 from pre-op on 9/1, surgery was on 9/16).

Today I have been banded one month. I lost 20 pounds since the surgery. I am super happy. I have been fighting for the 6 month to get off 20 and it is now done. Now if I can loose 15 to 20 per month, I will be at my goal before I know it. I think this is a slow but good process. Honestly, it took about 3 months to drop 20 pounds with the lapband. I give God all the glory!

I'm a month and 5 days post op. Before surgery I weighed 226.8 lbs and I'm currently stalled at 203.4. I know it's partly because I haven't been walking nearly as much as I should and I'm not getting in all the Protein. I'm on the soft food diet .. Does anyone have any recommendations of what to eat? My nutritionist said I could start eating cheese and deli meats, but I got so excited that I've been eating mainly that! I need some more options and I need a way of staying motivated!!

i haven't checked in for awhile but am glad I did. I was sleeved 9/23 and lost about a pound a day until 5 or 6 days ago. Then I stalled! I've lost just about a pound in five days...Down 27 lbs. since surgery so I'm really pleased but just want it to keep falling off. I walk three miles 3 or 4 times a week but I'm not cleared to do more yet. I was so worried about my stall that I called the nutritionist at my surgeon's office. She acted like it was nothing to worry about. Said this is an 18 month process and losing weight as quickly as I was for the long term wasn't healthy. Made me feel better. I'm just anxious because we are going to Florida in November. I've got to lighten up on myself.

Hi everyone. I hope all are doing well. I was sleeved ion Sept 19th. I have lost 35 lbs. I have begun trying to eat some real food, but it is a bit trying. But, I am doing really great. Started having some GERD issues. Trying to not eat so close to bed and not laying down for at least an hour after I eat.

Always here to help in anyway I can. Good luck to all!

I went to dogs shows last Thurs/Fri and was a little worried that I was not ready yet for that level of activity at 32 days post op. I did great! Drove 4 hours to get to the show site Wed afternoon with no issues. I showed 3 dogs in 7 classes on Thursday and 2 dogs in 2 classes on Friday. Had plenty of 'legal' food for me to eat in my ice chest, although keeping hydrated was a bit of a challenge. Show hospitality had fritatta for Breakfast, and I was able to eat a small portion with no issues. Legs were sore the next day, but my incision sites stayed nice and pink and I had no pain thru my midsection. I went out to dinner with friends - had a poached egg at IHOP the first night and a cup of tomato/basil Soup at Applebee's the second night. Ordered hot Water as my beverage and used my own tea bags to make my dinner beverage to sip during the dinner conversation. And I was able to wear show clothes that I haven't fit into for 2 years! Go me!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
