  3. Jacqueline K, I am not aware of any support group in Tuscaloosa or Pelham. Life is so ironic. I noted you used to live in Helena which is right next door to me. I am doing okay on my sleeve but temptation is always knocking on my door. My husband is the worst but the rest of my family tries to be supportive. I'm down nearly 40 pounds but not drinking nearly enough Water and the Protein drinks make me nausea but I try daily!!

  6. I was sleeved 9/3 and down just shy of 40 pounds. Glad I had the procedure but hate food and eating now.
  7. Waneta35, that is my daily concern. In my mind, I think I am chewing gone enough but then I swallow and feel like I am dying. 85% of the time my meals come back up as they are generally stuck and not making it through the sleeve. I literally hate food and eating now.
  8. MB511, my family gauges their good to include mine. One Saturday hubby cooked breakfast and didn't make a plate for my daughter. She said that's fine mommy will be done shortly and after 8 small bites; she was right. My limited eating bothers my family at times but mostly it is a going joke and who gets my plate is a part of it. Unlike your husband, it is usually thoughtful and loving. My family is concerned when it is clear what I've eaten is not going down. That for me is what makes me second guess things too. I had no clue and want to go back to jello and shakes. It seems to me I have been chewing forever but almost every time I have to go to bathroom because the meal is returning because it couldn't go down. I was sleeved 9/3 and that I am on solids I hate food.
  9. Bear man you story is phenomenal. How are you doing now? Your story could be my husband's but I can't wait for him to have that aha moment!!! I pray this finds you well!!!

  14. Steph Jo 89084, sleeved the same day and probably having similar experience. I am having trouble chewing fine enough so the pain of food going down is REAL - ouch!!
  15. @@champ72, I am eating 4 oz lean meat usually chicken (and not all of that generally). I do cooked to mush broccoli, mashed potatoes, kale, etc. I make a shake a day with yogurt, almonds, protein mix, Robard vanilla pudding mix, milk and ice. It helps get a large amount of protein in.
  16. JenW~79, praying all goes well and look forward to hearing about your experience
  17. All the check-ins sound great! I was sleeved 3 Sep 14 and down 21 lbs. Monday I actually showed a gain of a few lbs but was back down yesterday. Constipation is the worst but I keep chugging alone. This is usually my weight gain time th e hours are long & stressful at work because of year end so it is great to be losing right now. On soft foods but don't think I make them soft enough nor chewing fine enough, I get horrible pain when swallowing. It's a process & I'm in for the long haul.
  18. Hi Amly2n, I am praying all goes well with your surgery and recovery. I look forward to future post from you. My surgery was done by Dr. Pennington at Trinity.

  20. @@sweethime you may want to try non-whey protein shakes. I found out I'm allergic to whey. Throw up violently in hospital and extended my stay 3 days. Once we figured out the problem things got increasingly better. Sleeved 9/3, going in the office Tuesday. I've been working from home.
  21. Wondered if you were still in Shelby County area and knew of any local support groups?
  22. Wondered if anyone is still connected from Birmingham
