Hello everyone i am 3 weeks post op the last couple if days i have not been feeling well. having some dizziness, weakness and nausea. Laying down trying to rest. I am now in stage 4 of food hoping all well go well and time will heal. a question has anyone gone back to work yet. my dr has me out for 6 weeks due to she does not want me to lift anything above 20lbs. so 3 more weeks if u r out this long what are you doing with your time. well me trying to configure life to an exercise regimen, keeping track of intake and reading reading reading lol..

I went back 5 days after. I am a outpatient therapist. So I don't do much. I feel real good. I am sure to get all my Protein. My energy is not bad. I found this to be a good thing. I want to keep my mind stimulated. Because you have to find fillers for the time you were eating. I'm not cleared to work out yet, and I want to wait til I am completely healed. I started doing some laundry last night. It was a bit challenging. I don't want to bend a lot, so I have my husband helping and carrying.

Hello there! Sleeved sept 1 in Mexico.

Dr joya team was wonderful!

I had a rough couple days to start, a lot of gas pain. Almost 1 month out and I have lost 27 lbs and 22 inches.

It is defiantly a mind control thing, really want any food I can think of but know the consequence if I do!! Lol

Week 4 and still on purée and Protein drinks. I am overwhelmed with how much self control I have had In the past 6 weeks and look forward to posting my first post op pick in another month or two!

Sounds like you are really doing well.

Hi guys!! I'm not sure if anyone is having as much trouble as I am getting all this Protein down, but I found the cure to all my problems!!! Protein filled hot chocolate from "proti diet". ITS AMAZING!! Tastes just like hot coco and doesn't even feel like I'm drinking protein!! They also have a bunch of other protein filled items they make, but my fiancés aunt just showed me this today. I'll deff be trying them! Hope everyone is doing okay!! :)

Where did you all find this?

i personally started doing the daily weigh ins but became way to compulsive about it. I figured we women have hormones that work against us and we will have Water buildup at times. so to put my mind at ease i do measurements every 2-3 weeks and weigh in monthly. hope this helps

I am weighing in weekly, and nothing more. I want to know where I am, but I don't want it to be all about those numbers on the scale.< /p>

I was sleeved on 9/12/14 in TJ Mexico. I have no complaints regarding my surgery or the care I received. I don't remember much about recovery except I removed the oxygen every time the nurses placed it on my face. The smell of the oxygen intensified my nausea. Other than that, I don't remember anything about my recovery. Later, I woke in my room and I was in and out. My surgery was around 9am and I didn't get up and walk until later that evening. I had a lot of gas pain which was expected. Every day has been an improvement. I have been focused on getting my Water, Protein and Vitamins in. I am excited about this journey and this new lifestyle. I look forward to watching my body change.

I am a week behind you. Just wanted to know how you are feeling? I am up and back at em. I am trying to take it easy some, because I don't want to wear myself out. I am now on pureed foods, and i am not having any problems. I just don't eat more than my body will allow me. I go slow and I am always good.

Thats great you have been able to get back to work. I am a hospice nurse homecare so a lot of driving and carry equipment etc. I do understand about the mental stimulation lol. Hope you continue well on your journey. Whats help me with my protein and Fluid intake is writing everything down. also there is an app for protein intake and a seperate one for Water

Hey all. I had a band-to-sleeve revision on Sept. 4. I'm feeling great! 5 days post-op, I was down 13 lbs! I haven't been on a scale since, but I have a follow-up on 10/3. My energy is great, I have had zero pain since I left the recovery room! I never took any meds! Incisions are healing beautifully, and life is good! A friend of mine turned me into this site. He said it helped him alot!

Had my 10 day post of exam yesterday. Incision and punctures are healing well. Still working at getting to goal on daily Protein and fluids, but consistently hitting 80% of goal. Both the nurse and dr said the regular walks are a big factor in how well I am healing and recovering. I went back to work (office job) at day 6 post op. Taking pain meds once a day, usually mid-day. The sitting at a computer uses my core muscles more than I was aware. Stairs are still my nemesis, but I think within a couple of weeks it will be okay again. Can't do any of the prepared Protein Shakes, but I can do the unflavored Isopure protein, so I am adding that into everything. I'm down 10 pounds from my surg date. So far, so good.

Got sleeved on the 22nd. Feel pretty good still sore and still getting used to things. Haven't pooped yet :( take my colace twice a day but not eating much so maybe that and plus the pain meds hopefully it happens soon. Only weighed myself once so far and I was down about 20 lbs since starting my 5 day pre op till now. Haven't lost since though. Which is weird considering I'm only taking in about 400 calories a day. Each day getting better though. How is everyone feeling? Feels like a lot of stuff happening in there lol

I was sleeved on 9/15. No complications at all. Whole time in the hospital I had no problems drinking fluids and eating Jello. I've been doing very well getting in about 40 ounces of Water daily and my Protein Shakes and Soups for my meals. My problem is I'm extremely hungry ALL the time. I go to soft foods on Monday but am considering starting a day early not sure I will EVER eat Soup again LOL.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
