I was sleeved on the 15th at 5pm. I didn't get into my room until after 8pm but they did get me up and walking before I was out for the night. The next day I felt really good. I have been following the diet and walking throughout the day. Today I have walked over 4000 steps according to my fitbit. I am excited that this hasn't been as hard as I thought however, I made the mistake of getting on the scale and it's telling me that I have GAINED 7 pounds. How is this possible? Has anyone else had this problem?

I was sleeved on 9-15. And I wish I had some of the positive stories I've read. The moment I opened my eyes it was nothing but PAIN. I thought I was having a heart attack. Of course it was the gas. Lasted for two days. By Tuesday evening I was discharged which I returned to the ER with more chest pain just to find out the pain was related to my liver being lifted..In conclusion, today I've tried to drink as much liquid as possible but hasn't been easy with all the heartburn. And by the way I'm a diabetic, and the 1 reason I did the sleeve. My sugar levels have been in the late 200s. :(

I was sleeved on 9/15 and am taking off 2 weeks since I have the PTO available. I gained 9 lbs after being in the hospital 24 hrs. Lots of IV fluids I guess. I'm trying to stay off the scales again until my post-op appt next week. The gas pain has improved significantly today but hasn't gone away completely. I'm not enjoying the gas pain rising through my chest and out my left shoulder.

I remember waking up from surgery in a lot of pain too, like a bunch of pressure up into my diaphragm. Seemed like it took forever for them to get my PCA up and running, although I know it wasn't long. I definitely remember that!

Sleeved 9/10. Three days in hospital. Pain was significant there but improved. Day 6, I felt much better pain-wise and energy also. But my pain has gotten worse again. It radiates from the large incision area. As long as I am resting in a reclined position, the pain disappears. But when I walk around, it really hurts. There is no weeping at the incision or anything external that appears wrong. No problems drinking my fluids. No fever. Just pain at that site Am calling the doctor in the morning. Sick of pain!!

@@JCP that one large incision on the right hurts too. And your right, as long as I'm sitting or resting I'm ok. When I get up and walk around it hurts something bad.

@@sweethime, what day were you sleeved? I don't get why I'm still having this pain on day 10. It was better at about 6 days but I think my increased mobility is what has done it. Did laundry, washed dishes, cooked dinner for hubby, next thing I knew... Damn! Just want it to go away.

@@JCP, on 9-15. Can't sleep for long either. But in your case increased mobility may have pushed you too much. The way I feel I truly don't understand how some are a ready to go back to work after a few days.

Sleeved on the 15th around 9am. Was up walking around that evening. I think the nurses found my regular 1/2 hourly 'lap' around the ward pretty funny. My surgeon prefers to keep people in for 3 or 4 days so I did a lot of laps.

So far is been ok, no shoulder pain post-op, burping a lot after drinking. Looking forward to a solid nights sleep.

Hi my fellow September Sleevers!

I was sleeved on Wednesday, September 17 and was discharged on the 18th. The worse night was the first night in the hospital because I didn't stay ahead of the pain/soreness. Took pain meds last night, but haven't needed any yet.

Thankfully no complications and able to get in my liquids with no issues; however, cold liquids are a little harder going down.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
