August post op sleevers: Check in

Recommended Posts

I am a little over 3 weeks out. Feeling great overall. Walking at least 1 mile each day. Went on a tough two mile hike on Sunday and felt great. I am eating between 700-800 calories a day and can't wait to start "soft" foods tomorrow!

I was sleeved Aug 11 and feel so great! I am now eating regular food and haven't had any issues. It seems crazy that I had this surgery only 5 weeks ago- definitely a turn around from the 1st week regrets I had!

Hello Hello Hello and Good morning! Can you tell I am feeling great? Well, the Miralax worked and I think I am going to stick with that until I can eat regular foods. I am also going to stick with the Activia too. I would rather have food to help me than some chemicals. I have deleveoped acid reflux and had a few heartburn sessions. That is the only con about my sleeve experience. Never had acid reflux like this and I have to take some chewables for this.

I am glad to see everyone heading in the right direction,DOWN! We are still in the beginning stages and still have a long journey.

Later Loser!

I was sleeved on August 27 and have only managed to lose 15 pounds. Of course I'm happy with 15...it's better than gaining that much. But I keep hearing about all these people losing so much more since their surgery. On the pre op diet, I lost 11 pounds, so I'm down a total of 26. Do you have any tips on what is making your weight loss so dramatic?

That included my preop days....I know everyone is different and we should never measure our loss to another person as there so many different factors....I do alot of walking though....it helps....and most likely it will slow down for me ...your doing great!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
