10 days post op - tender, weak legs

Recommended Posts

I am 10 days post op and woke up this morning with extremely tender calves. I have been very good about walking each day to improve the recovery process, however my legs are just so sore today and I have no idea why.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I am not quite 2 weeks out, and today my hips and legs ache like I have the flu. I just can't get comfortable. I'm not able to eat much (maybe 8 - 10 ounces of food a day), so I'm wondering if a lack of nutrition is the cause? I take all my Vitamins and supplements....but I lack a lot of Protein. I just can't eat enough to get it all in.

That's a classic symptom of DVT (deep vein thrombosis). Get checked out!

I'm doing better...Thanks for asking!!! No DVT - luckily. I'm still on IV nutrition (TPN) via my Picc Line due to not being able to eat and drink. On Wednesday I go to have another Endoscopy where they will hopefully dilate the stricture and check the status of the ulcer.

This past week I feel like I've improved quite a bit, so after the endoscopy I hope to push forward with a more normal recovery. I still have the wound being packed daily, but it is improving as well. It still hurts when being packed or when using my core to get up and down. I can't wait to be healed!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
