When did nausea go away
I'm 6 weeks post-op and still deal with daily nausea. I have 2 meds which help a little. I'm anxiously awaiting not being nauseated!

Can't tell if I am hungry or full or what!
I do! I'm nauseated all the time, but sometimes I feel hungry. When I go to eat, I realize I'm not hungry after all. It just doesn't make sense!

nauseous all the time
I also live with constant nausea. I take prescription meds and it helps a little. Drinking anything is the major problem, as I'm immediately nauseated. Eating takes about 20 minutes before I feel icky. I see the dr tomorrow, and I'm hoping to find an answer to the problem. I'm 7 weeks out today from my RNY.

Need positive support
Thank you. I do have nausea medication, and it helps as long as I don't eat anything. The surgeon is aware of the problem, but only sees patients on Thursdays. He was already booked for tomorrow, so I had to take next week. The nut is going to stay in contact with me because she understands how much I am lacking in nutrition and hydration. If things go further south before next week, she said I'm to go to the ER. I'm just feeling down today because it's been a tough road today with the nausea. I'm sure I will feel better about things in the morning. But I so appreciate your encouragement and advice! I need that :-)

Need positive support
I'm 5 weeks out from RNY, and I'm frustrated and discouraged. I can't eat or drink without nausea, and many times whatever I put down wants to come up in a "juicy burp" (I'm really sorry if that's tmi). I talked to my nut yesterday and she suggested Popsicles because they take more time and should help going down. However, even the Popsicles make me nauseous. On top of that, since I'm barely eating or drinking, I thought the scales would show something for all my trouble, but I've stalled. I have an appt to see my surgeon next week. I know I have a narrowing of my anastomoses and he may go in and stretch that. Please tell me things get better!

What type of yogurt do you use?
I love The Greek Gods yogurt. It is very creamy and it's like eating ice cream (without the sugar). My store just quit carrying the plain flavor though, and I'm very sad about this. Does anyone know if honey is ok to have? Because they have a honey flavored one that I used to eat before surgery, and it is out-of-this-world good! I currently am eating Chobani pumpkin spice. I've used it in pumpkin protein smoothies, and it is good. I don't care for any other Chobani flavors though.

Gastropareses
I have been diagnosed with this disorder for many years. It basically means that my stomach cannot properly digest food. I'm afraid it is making things harder after my RNY. I get quite hungry, but as soon as I eat I'm nauseated. As soon as the nausea wears off I'm really hungry again. Doesn't matter if I only ate a half hour ago, or two hours ago. And it isn't just the kind of hungry where your stomach growls, but the kind that makes you very lightheaded and shaky. Does anyone else deal with this? Is there a way to make things easier? I used to take medication, Domperidone, for this problem, but the doctors won't prescribe it now. It's a med I have to get from Canada. However, the doctors now say that Reglan is just as good, and that's what they prescribe for me. This med doesn't even begin to work, but my doctors will not switch it out or prescribe the med that worked.

Narrowing of anastomoses
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what help is there for it? My surgeon says it'll stretch itself, but it's been 5 weeks and there is no change. This narrowing causes quite a few problems for me, not to mention that it us painful.

Struggling
I'm in the same boat. Struggling to get in my protein and liquids. I get sick on the protein powders and protein bars, so I am trying to find other ways to get my protein in. Unfortunately, I can't eat much before I'm too full. So what starts out to be high in protein isn't so high after all because I can't eat the serving size to get it all in. And fluids....oh how my stomach hates to drink! I'm thirsty, but my stomach literally rebels at fluid intake. My RNY was 8/18/14, and I was hoping that by now I'd be doing better.

Best brand of RTD Protein drinks?
Bring It On, if you bought the protein through sams club, and you have your receipt, they will take it back and give you your money back. If you don't have your receipt they will still take it back because they can track your purchases through your member number, but they will only give you store credit without the receipt.

Off the subject....
Does anyone know how to edit or update personal information in their profile? I've gone everywhere on this site and can't figure it out. I've even tried the search, but it comes back with 0 results. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance :-)

Best brand of RTD Protein drinks?
Simple Start is tasty, but it only has 15g of protein. Found them in the breakfast aisle at Walmart near the carnation instant breakfast.

Needs Encouragement
I am also almost 4 weeks out from RNY. I also had complications and questioned myself on having the surgery. It didn't feel worth it at first. While I still am having troubles, the scales are showing me a good look at how this surgery has helped, even though it's been difficult. I know things will get better! I'm proud of you! It's going to be so worth it in the end :-)

tummy troubles
I have the same problem. Ask your doctor for phenergan for the nausea...that helps! My doctor also said I can take 1 Imodium and that has also been helpful. The protein shakes have been one of the main culprits for the nausea, so I've been using 2 packets of sugar free carnation instant breakfast which equals one scoop of the protein powders. That has helped.
