Help having an emotional week

Recommended Posts

So I am almost 4 months out and I do lov my body changes. I am down 69 pounds. Woo hoo

In the last few days my nails have been breaking off and Hair loss is in full force . I knew this would happen but it still shocked me a lot. Any suggestions anyone has on how to help this or anything really I would appreciate.

I started with chewable Biotin. I would take 2 a day and then when you start seeing it improve then go down to 1 a day. I started taking it 3 months before surgery for this very reason. My hair was already thin and nails never grew - but after 90 days of this my nails are long and strong and my hair is so much fuller. Hopefully in the 90 days after surgery it wont be to badly affected. However, starting it now will help. It was amazing the changes in just 90 days of taking it. Truly helps.

Congrads on the weight loss. Keep up the good work. Dont let this get you down....Its just a stage and it will pass.

My hair is falling out a lot too. I am afraid to brush it. I have been taking Biotin for a long time. Like 3 or for months pre opt.

I hope this passes quickly.

What daily Protein have you all been getting in? I am getting about 60 - 70 grams/ day and wondering if I am still going to have trouble with Hair loss.< /p>

I am getting over 70 grams most days. My Dr said to get 85-90. So that is what I have been trying for.

I have been taking Biotin for over a month now and my surgery is on the 8th. I am hoping to not have too much Hair loss because my hair is already extremely thin.

I think it does have a lot to do with your Protein intake and from what I have read, it occurs between 3 and 6 months post surgery.

I would take the Biotin as others have said.

I have to take a weekly dose of chemotherapy and I lose a bit of hair and it seems to help.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
