Hi everyone!! This is my first post & I'm looking for October surgery buddies. I'm very excited about the surgery. I've gotten my psych clearance, scheduled my sleep study, nutrition classes and upper endoscopy. My date is October 14th. Btw, anyone here from Jersey? Look forward to making friends w everyone!

I'm scheduled for 10/27! Counting down......

I'm really now wanting to have a lot of people around - my daughter will be with me the first day. Who are you having with you for surgery and post op recovery. Should I have my mom come in - I'm single.

I'm getting sleeved on the 28th!! How are you doing on the pre op diet?

Is there anyone else out there who didn't have to follow a preop diet except clear liquids the day before?

I'm going to Dr. Pallapothu in Binghamton, NY. I find the semi liquid diet challenging especially on the weekends. During the week i seem to do better since my job is so demanding.

Everyone's Dr. Is different. Mine wants 2 weeks on 2-3 protein shakes and a lean protein, veggies, and no more than 80g of carbs per day. For a total of 800 cals per day. Nothing after midnight the night before surgery.

My doctor only required clear liquids the day before.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am feeling better everyday. Glad to be on the other side. Good luck to those going this week! You've got this :)

I'll catch up on the board today. But maybe our pioneers can help me. I"m supposed to set my alarm every 15 minutes and sip 30ccs throughout those 15 min. I"m having a hard time doing it. Sometimes I have something that is good, that i just want to sip on it for about 20 min until I feel full and no longer want it. Then today I ate a sugar free Jello in about 20 minutes. That is way too fast. Even Water. Went on a 2 mile walk, and drank about a cup of water. But it wasn't every 15 min.

Anyone else not following this 15 min rule? I'm trying to listen to my sleeve ... maybe I'm wrong. :/
