July RNY Page

Calling all July losers!!!! :-) :-) Wanted to reach out and check in to see how everyone is doing. I know several of us are finally coming out of the initial aches and pains of the surgery, so I was interested in any updates you want to share! Losses, victories, stalls, anything...the floor's open!

Friday is our 8wks. I ate sushi last night. It used to be good pre surgery. Still taste good post surgery but new tummy did not like it. At. All. I will never eat sushi again!

Did it taste different? I had sushi once and it tasted metallic to me :( I was sad because I used to really love sushi

Everything was tasting different to me and it has finally started getting back to normal. Crazy.

The sushi didn't taste different to me. It was very good! My new tummy, however, thought otherwise. :/ I kept it down, both ways (barely), but it was very painful and uncomfortable. It went away a couple of hours later.

Walked my first 5k Saturday. I wasn't last. I walked the Blue Shoe walk for prostate cancer in honor of my dad who died from this cancer in 1990! It felt so amazing to do this!

Congrats on that!!!

It's so strange. They warned me though. I just can't wrap my head around how different it is for everyone. Some things I thought would definitely make me sick didn't and other stuff I thought would be fine ended up making me sick. I LOVE sushi, but I only used to eat it maybe 3 times a year, if that. I hope I can still eat it, just not nearly as much if it. No more all you can eat for me!! Lol

I'm so excited today!! Down 50 lbs in 10 weeks and am beyond thrilled! How is everyone else doing? I feel so good just need to worry about new pants but I think that I can handle some retail therapy even if it's goodwill! :)

People are finally noticing as I got more form fitting clothes. People have actually said I am tiny. Never in my lifetime would I believe anyone would refer to me as tiny!!!!

I had wls on 7.28 I'm down 20 pounds since surgery 42 altogether. I'm struggling with the thick protein shakes I once loved. I switched back to the fruit ones but I'm not hitting my protein goal with shakes alone. I need to keep better track with my fitness pal because sometimes I'm not sure I got enough protein in for the day. I miss the ease of the shakes, but its all good.

People are starting to notice, which is both good and bad. I don't really want to share with everyone what "my secret" is, because I don't want to deal with the whispers. But, I am a bad liar, so if I'm asked outright I don't lie. It's nice to come on here and read about and talk to people who know what I'm going through. It's very comforting.

I absolutely have no regrets. I just don't want to screw this up.

I had surgery July 7th. I went back to the hospital the 15th due to ulcer. I have lost 62lbs postop and 74lbs total.

Ahhhh! I'm so excited for such a stupid reason! I can cross my legs!! Like a lady!! I never thought that would be a big deal, but it made my night. :-)

My surgery was July 23, I'm a little over 8 weeks out. I feel amazing but I keep having stalls, for 2 weeks at a time. It's frustrating. I'm down from a size 34 to a 24 and from a 5 x to a very loose 3x shirt.
